The first half against Leicester in the season we went it, 6-0 at half time against a team in the playoffs was simply amazing. From out PL days prolly the 7-1 versus Spuds in Keegan's last home game (first time around), we thoroughly dismantled them.

As long as the suspention takes place that the bweginning of the season I'm not too fussed. It's not likly that he'll be anywhere near match fit by then. Of course if they go crazy and give him a 12 match suspension or something then I'll change my mind. Seems a little unfair that NUFC are being punished for something that happened between 2 Man Shitty players. But that's life I guess.

Of the three Carroll would be the one I would like to see given the opportunity but he's got a lot of work to do to prove himself. You mentioned the PNE loan which you are absolutely right was a complete nightmare for him. By the end of it he wasn't even getting a game for a team struggling in the championship. With the opportunities he's had with us, he's failed to show anything of any note. His record at junior and reserve level is fantastic though, but we've seen that many times before with the likes of Joe Allon, Brayson and Chopra never fullfilling the promise they showed.

The problem for me here is the date, it's July 31 and to be frank we are bloody desperate. I would love us to be in a position to be able to walk away from this and tell the depor president to go fuck himself. But we desperately need a true quality centre back and we need him now, so tell them we'll give them the extra but make sure the whole footballing world knows about the way they do business. There will be a time when they need a favour from us, let's just remember this incident.

The forward department is a huge concern now. I serious do not think a new striker has been well down the priority list for the summer. We've heard recently that our priority is defenders. But surely now things, will change. Will Owen be ready for Manure in 17 days time, is he even training yet. Martins is back which is a good thing, we have to wrap him up in cotton wool though cos if we loose him then we are well and truely fucked. Shola and Smith are clearly not up to the task and Viduka and Carrol are injured. I think we can write off the month of August tbh, the only thing we have got going for is is that since there hasn't been a lot of changes in the line up, we'll not have to go through the getting to know you stuff. I expect 1 or 2 max new signings to start on the 17th, not really what I hoped for at the end of last season

Found this link over on toontastic: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=340725&page=2 Seems they don't like us very much either. Mackems think they have wonderful fans

Verbal sewage. Do you want to explain how? Aye, it's quite clearly literary. Well if he's having a go at Heneage's grammer then, FFS get a life, it's pretty clear what he was trying to say. Really? So how come it made f*** all sense to me? And for the record, I wasn't having a pop at his "grammer" (sic) - I was having a pop at his overall inability to make any f***ing sense whatsoever. I'm pretty sure, English is not his first language, cut the lad some slack.

Verbal sewage. Do you want to explain how? Aye, it's quite clearly literary. Huh? I just didn't understand what the f*** Heinous was on about. Yes so hard to freakin understand. We dominated them at home, our form up to the match up will determine if we win the derby yet again. If you look through most of the shit I write you'll see tons of gramatical fuck ups, yet people can clearly still see the crappy points I make.

Verbal sewage. Do you want to explain how? I was going to ask the same question, Heanage has hardly said anything too controversial there.

Inler has already rejected a move to us. No he hasnt Yes, he has. Wise met with Inler's representatives in Switzerland and they were presented with an offer which was then turned down by Inler's camp as he was not interested in joining Newcastle. Was very widely reported in the Swiss media. Unbelievable don't you read the forum rule book ? We don't believe a word coming out of the media, even the Swiss one.

You're effectivly giving away the transfer fee (something i doubt Blackburn wanted). What % did you lot have on the deal? 40% If my maths is correct, which it usually isn't then that's 12million. Doesn't seem an awful lot compared to Keane going for 20.3 mill.
-
Well actually yes there is, despite some people continually ignoring the facts for some strange reason. We've had confirmed bids for numerous players so far, totaling somewhere around £40 million (not to mention the many rumoured bids). Money has been made available, amazing as this may sound to you we didn't say to the likes of Modric "sign for the Spuds, we can't afford your fee, we've only made the bid to fool the Newcastle public you know..". Seems like your numbers are ising everytime you respond. 40 Million now is it ? The only official confirmation of any rejected bids we've had so for are for Modric and Woodgate. In both cases we do not know exactly how much we bid. It's fair to assume we bid in the region of 9 Mill for woody and 18 mill for Modric. That's 27mill, not 40 Mill. But that's still fine, if we had followed through with the deal. But we didn't and we still have not brought in our 2nd choices. These bids were also made in January, for Woody and May ish time for Modric. It's entirely possible that Ashley has changed his stance on whether he fancies this football ownership lark in that time. Like I keep having to repeat myself, action speaks way louder than words, so lets see some. I challenge Ashley to prove my fears unfounded. Until then I continue to have them and question why revenue is not being spent. £27 Mil, then Fee's for Jonas and Guthrie, then net spening last year too. ?? We've not spent 27mil though that's the point. Jonas and Gutrie could easily have been financed from the sales of Emre and Rozy. If you are taking last year into consideration, where our net spend was not particuarily high anyway (don't hacve exact numbers in front of me) then to balance things out you have to include last year's TV revenue too, so that's another 40 mill or however much they got from Sky/setanta etc.

I'm glad I don't live in the North East anymore, I'm sure the office I used to work in would be full of gormless Mackems telling us how wonderful Keane is and how they are going to have a great season next year. But I guess their euphoria is understandable when mediocrity is success in their books.

How many times does it have to be said that transfers don't just happen because you want them too. Its usually a long slow process of negotiation (the transfers of Jonas and Guthrie being the exception) and they can often fall through. Look at Modric, Woodgate and Aimar, we made firm offers totalling £32 million for the three of them and got none of them. Meanwhile we've offered £9.5 million (exactly the fee asked for apparently) for Coloccino and the c*** at Depor now wants even more, so that may also end without a signing. Some people seem to have this idea that every day we don't sign a player is a day that Mike Ashley has wisheld money, its nonesense! You can't just stick £50 million in the hands of Keegan/Wise/Vetere ect and say "Right I want £50 million worth of players tomorrow".. I'm sorry teasy but that's a load of regurgitated toss, that completely misses my point. You've fallen for this old line that transfer deals are just so complicated in this day and age. TBH, no they are not. They are complicated and drawn out when clubs make them that way, they can also be done pretty quickly. Look at the Robbie Keane move for example, that one appeared to done an dusted in a couple of weeks. As much as the majority on here love to loath Spuds, one thing you just have to admire is the way they make deals happen, this is a sign if you are determined enough you can deal in this market. Sometimes we will have to pay over the odds in salary for players, because of our lack of recent success, geographical location, recent history of being big payers and some outside perception of the stability of the club. We have to accept this at the moment unfortunately, we have also developed a reputation as being somewhat big spenders, after our previous deal with Depor, you can bet your bottom dollar that is why their president is trying to screw us for every penny. But if all it takes an extra 1mill to seal the Colocinni deal then we have to find it, because we've got to a stage in the close season where we are becoming desperate. A situation we could have avoided had we been more aggressive earlier on in the window. I don't need to look at the Robbie Keane deal, I can look at Jonas or Guthrie for a quick deal, as I said they happen but the idea that every deal will happen like that is idiotic. I can't be bothered to argue with you on wether our club should have to accept paying silly money for players or not. I don't think they should at all but if you believe we should be that desperate then that's up to you. None of that changes the fact that money is available, there's no evidence what so ever that Mike Ashley is refusing to spend is there?.. which was the point of my post, a point you just completely ignored. Oh yes I absolutely did say we should pay silly money. You completely quoted me correctly there. I said we have to sometimes pay a little over the odds to seal a deal, unfortunately it's a fact of the situation we are now in. If you don't think we are in a desperate situation, with 18 days to go till the season starts with a squad 4 players lighter than last year's thin squad, then you really need to wedge that head of your's out of the sand, because it seems pretty firmly stuck there. You were responding to my points, you, not me, so if you are going to ignore my points and set off on some tangient about how complex deals are these days, then why the hell should I respond to your points ? Look if you can't be bothered to arge, as you say, why argue in the first place ? BTW there is no evidence whatsover that Ashley is not refusing to spend, see two can play at that game ! Only when we get the players we desperately need though the door will that be proven otherwise and I hope to god he proves all the doubting thomas's like me wrong, nothing would make me happier.

Can't tune into Talksport here in Canada but I'm not ashamed to admit I did listen to it when I was back in the UK. TBH, metro radio is awful, century is absymal as is radio Newcastle, none of the national BBC stations aren't worth the effort with five live being the only on I used to tune into but it was far too geared towards news rather than sport IMO. So that left me with little choice, I wanted to listen to sports debate on my commute home. Anyway I think Hawksby and Jacobs is a great show, they are extremely good presenters and the humour was excellent. Their serialisation of David Sheppard's (formeer umpire in cricket for those who don't know) audio book, had me in stitches everytime. Their humour was very subtle, shame their show was on in the early afternoon not during the drive home The rest of the presenters with the exception of Andy Townsend whom I always found to be very eloquent and level headed, talk abosolute s****. I particuarilly hated Adrian Durham, what an arsehole, full of self importance, had it in for Newcastle big time.

Some light reading: http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/administration/117623_43278.pdf I'm not saying that's wrong, it's obviously in there since you posted the link to FIFA. But how can this be legally correct ? Surely it goes against the whole innocent until proven guilty thing. The burden of proof surely needs to lie with those prosecuting not the defendant ? It's probably never come up yet but I doubt FIFA would win if they tried to enforce this and someone challenged them.

Ex fucking cuse me ?? The reason I saw this as better than Chimbonda was because this opening in the squad, was for a squad filler. We already have two very capable full backs, we don't need another one that would expect to play every week, on high wages with a suspect attitude, we need a youngster that can fill in from time to time and at 1.5mil he's practically no gamble. Honestly I'm embarrassed for you for making that post, shows absolutely no understanding of the current state of the squad.
-
Way better than bringing in the likes of Chimbonda, to back up the full back position. We need another kid for the other side, Colocini to sign on the dotted line and as far as I'm concerned we are done with the defence. I hope to god though they don't think that midfield and up top needs no further work. Got a horrible feeling they do though.

Yep. On about page two of this thread we knew the player and agent were happy with the offer. You're kidding me ? You mean I could have been happy all this time, if I had been arsed to read the full thread ?
