Is Emre back in training ?

Don't remember much about either story, but find it funny to hear people say, I was in school or too young to remember, makes me feel old, I'm older than both Shearer and Cole. I do remember though when Cole signed for us, I was stuck in Minnesota airport, there was some bad weather and our plane home couldn't take off, I was stuck in line behind this obnoxious fat biker, anyway called my mum to tell her we were staying overnight and she told me we'd signed cole from Bristol City, for what at the time was a lot of money for us 1.75m. She said she'd never heard of him, but I was ecstatic, I thought he was going to be a good signing though never dream he would be as good as he turned out.

I honestly don't see how we can accomodate both Martins and Owen in a 4-4-2. I can't see them working a s a pairing and there has been no evidence so far that disproves my theroy. The formation is all so much up in the air until we complete our summer spending. KK has favoured 4-4-2 in the past with us(although he has dabbled with other formations) and when he has the personell to play it I can see him reverting back, that may make Martins surplus to requirements but obviously at this moment in time there is no way in hell we ca let him go.

Does anyone seriously think that we are going to sign anyone half decent..we all moaned at Mr Shepherd but at least he brought in some big-ish names. Mr Ashley doesnt seem to want any part of us so does anyone think he is going to splash the cash? I mean so far we have signed two unknowns....Who is seriously going to want to sign for us when teams like west ham mancity pompy everton are all as good if not better than us , in a better position with similar chances of suceeding. Are we all a little too expectant of a big name? Can't see it personally. The bit in bold I agree with, the rest is rubbish. He would actually have a decent talking point if he stuck to the: "There's no real evidence that Ashley is prepared to spend" bit and not indulge in the overly negative crap surrounding it. People like this give us pessimists a bad name

Aimar would get my pulses running for sure. Would like to see this one come off, obviously his form has not been great recently but I would back KK toturn this around. On form his exactly the type of player we need.

What's your expectation for next season then? Like I said top half, nothing more nothing less, yet another dull season. Steven Carr gets my vote, filled the void left by Baba, was just awesome, crazy decision letting him go.

The club has done a great job in lowering my expectations to just a top half finish. It wasn't long ago when NUFC were a top 4 team, then we slipped to being just a euro contender now clearly most of us see us as nothing more than a mid table team. It's kind of depressing really.

Personally I have the feeling he's been brought into replace Barton. I also have the feeling Emre will still be a NUFC player come Aug 31.

The biggest disappointment for me is the number of people who come across as hoping they'll get the chance to say "I told you so" Fair point but I'm sure deep down even NE5 in his heart of hearts would much rather Ashley succeed and bring us back to were we all feel we belong, than be in a position to say I told you so. One thing you have to give NE5 credit for is that he is and has been for a very long time a committed supporter of the club and anyone who is that would not wish any ill will on NUFC. I wouldn't necessarily aim my comment at him to be honest. I was just using NE5 as an example tbh, I think this should be the case for any committed fan. If they would rather say "I told you so" then they have about as much passion for our club as Martin Samuel and should fuck right off, pardon my french.
