For all the talk from the national media and their manager about how Liverpool's wasteful finishing cost them the game, we didn't really let them have too many clean up chances. The melee from the corner in the first half as Gini hits the post, the Clark mistake which should have been very costly and that half chance near the end where Ox heads it over. That only 3 chances, we created a decent one ourselves from the corner at the end, so they only really created 2 more decent chances than we did. That's not good enough for a top 6 team tbh, and all down to the structure of Rafa's team and the way the players worked hard to implement his instructions.

Re-watched the highlights just there, his positioning was pretty poor for the goal, but still not really going to blame him for it, that shot is hit so damn fast, almost impossible to react. I didn't really appreciate at the time, the save he made from the Clark miss kick, that was excellent.

The sad fact is, discounting of course Leicester's remarkable season, to even have a chance of being what traditionally was regarded as being successful, you absolutely need one of these mega rich type owners. Otherwise you are really settling for being at best mid table and we are refining the term if successful as finishing in 10th spot in the PL.

I've said my piece on him, yesterday's game despite scoring further emphasized to me why he's not the right player to be leading our line. Matip plays offside, then has to turn back and still makes back 2 or 3 yards on him, before Joselu has even decided what to do, so slow in thought and speed. For me Mitro is the best of a distinctly average group. Our front pairing, if you can call it that is by far our weakest link, we are sneaking by right now, lets hope that continues and we address it in January. He really needs to cash in on Mitro, because he clearly doesn't rate or trust him, pointless having him sitting around in our reserves while his transfer value plummets.

Whatever his job is, and I don't for one second know what that is, he's obviously following Rafa's instructions, as he's started every game. we know Rafa doesn't suffer fools or those that don't stick to his system.

He's a strange player tbh, compare this game with his performance for us against Norwich two seasons ago, not just the goals he scored but his all round play, worlds apart.

Thought he started off really sloppily but actually grew into the game as it went on, I'm not sure he deserved to be "hauled off" when he was would have taken Perez off the pitch at that point, personally.

Something is obviously up, no one comes up to Newcastle and allows themselves to be seen in public without there being a reason for it. It's not like we are a London club where these financial types just take in a game, it's a long trek up to us and rarely would you see someone without an association with the club make it. If they were still in the formative stages, she would have been tucked inside a exec box, out of the public gaze, there is a reason for this, not convinced yet though it's because a sale is imminent.
