He is back..... I fkn hate him MONDAY Manchester United v Newcastle (2000 BST) Man Utd v Newcastle Manchester United always respond strongly after failing to win the league and they will be determined to win the Premier League title back. They look like they have a nice mix in their squad and when you consider that they lost the league by one point last season despite missing a large chunk of their defence for a lengthy period, then I think Sir Alex Ferguson's side are the team to beat this campaign. I expect a tough season for Newcastle following their promotion from the Championship. It will be interesting to see how many points they pick up away from home and, indeed, how much of the ball they have at Old Trafford on Monday. Prediction: 2-0

  17. anchester United have confirmed the signing of Vitoria de Guimaraes striker Bebe, a relatively unknown 20-year-old from Portuguese football, for reported fee of £ 7.4 million. Sir Alex Ferguson has some decisions to make GettyImages Sir Alex Ferguson has eight strikers on the books Bebe, full name Tiago Manuel Dias Correia, has agreed personal terms and will become the eighth striker on the books at Old Trafford, subject to passing a medical. The forward was recommended to United by Sir Alex Ferguson's former assistant Carlos Queiroz, now manager of the Portugal national team, and had also been closely linked with Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid. The Guardian reports that Bebe was raised in an orphanage after spending part of his childhood on the streets and has represented Portugal in the homeless World Cup. The 6'2" striker made a name for himself at Vitoria after joining from Estrela da Amadora and, despite his tender years, has a strong physical presence as well as technical aptitude, vision and good passing skills.

  19. Early in the 2009/10 campaign, Billy was suspended for two weeks by the Academy for a breach of discipline. In early 2010 a further transgression was apparently made, which led to Billy's dismissal from the academy. \ Looks like another Bartonesque...
  20. http://www.nufcblog.com/2010/08/10/good-news-alan-smith-fit-again/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+nufcblog+%28The+Newcastle+United+Blog%29 Think this guys are who would say something like this to Smith It’s still possible that Alan Smith could play some part in next Monday night’s first PL game at Old Trafford. Alan Smith - back playing again today The mystery of Alan missing out on the last couple of games was explained today by manager Chris Hughton. Indeed the midfielder played in a behind- closed-doors friendly earlier today against St Mirren, so that he could both ensure some match practice and at the same time prove his fitness for next Monday night’s game against his former club. Smith had previously missed the games at Deportivo La Coruna and on Saturday at Ibrox, and that was tough on a self-confessed Rangers’ fan. Chris Hughton told the Evening Chronicle today: “Injury-wise, Alan is fine and he was only left out of the Rangers game as a precaution.” “He missed two days of training last week because of a very minor ankle knock.” “And we didn’t see any point in putting him at risk.” “He played earlier this morning in a behind-closed-doors friendly for the reserves.” “Alan’s fine and he’s in good spirits.” So it looks like Alan will be in contention for a starting place on Monday night, and who knows he could be the Newcastle captain, with Chris Hughton still not yet deciding who will be the Newcastle United captain for this season.
