  1. Thiago is still very, very green. He has all the talent in the world, but makes lots of mistakes still. He suffers from what I call the "De La Peña" syndrome, where he tries to show how good he is with every ball he touches, which costs him a lot of mistakes. He isn't ready for all the first team football he thinks he deserves, and has had a particularly awful season until the U21 tournament. Madrid's midfield tore him to shreds in La Liga, for example.

But losing him would be a mistake, since the potential is there, technically he's a marvel to behold. And I think it's a mistake for him to go to the Premier League.

Yeah, but he's at the stage where he has to play regularly to iron out all his remaining issues.

At the end of the day, your team is talented enough to allow for his mistakes, particularly against the lesser teams.

It's not as though Fabregas has been a consistent first teamer, and so Thiago really should have been used the way Fabregas has been.

The way I see it Fabregas has been a bit of a waste because he really should be a fixture in the first team at this stage of his career, and with the talent he posesses.  On top of that he has also now restricted Thiago's opportunities.

It's a disaster all around. What have you people done?

  2. Thiago should have been playing all the minutes Fabregas has been since he joined.

Buying Fabregas was such a forced transfer, considering you had Thiago coming through.

You don't deserve the lad VI!!!

  3. Have only seen a little bit of Bony but i thought his touch was quite heavy but that doesn't matter given the extraordinary amount of time defenders in the Dutch league give opposition players. He certainly won't get that here. Based on what little i saw, i don't think he'd do that well in this league.

A young man from Belgium came over from an even poorer league with a heavy touch last summer, and scored goals for fun. Really difficult to predict these things.

Bony reminds me of Kone who was at Wigan last season, although I actually think he's more polished. Think he'll do well personally.

  4. May I also just remind everyone that we had the youngest team at the tournament. Average age just under 23 years old, and we were missing our best goal scorer in Emunike, as well as our best wide player in Moses.

All things considered I am happy with our progress, and really looking forward to next years world cup, once we've hopefully tied up qualification.

  5. Went out to watch that. Nigeria are awful. Musa is very dangerous but he's all pace.

How anyone could watch that game, and claim Nigeria were awful is beyond me.

Our finishing was in fact worse than awful, but we made the game a worthy spectacle. Thought we played really well, and had just as many chances if not more in fact.

    Clown analysis bro.

  6. Bony is powerful, but is more of a stocky, mobile striker who gets involved in play.

More of a Tevez (not as good) or Kone (more refined) type in style imo.

Strong enough to hold the ball up due to his build and low centre of gravity, but not a target man I wouldn't say. Also, not one to just stay high up the pitch looking to get in behind.
