Right ... whose next on the list then. James has screwed this one up.

Or the random Kuqi or Sibierski signing!
-
It certainly seems to get some people really down missing out on players. If it got to me that much, I'd for sure just check back in at the end of August. I find all of the transfer manoeuvring really interesting though, and I feel confident we'll get in what we need at the end. It's far better than the silence during the Mike Ashley years throughout the window, with the confirmation on the morning of deadline day that we were closed for business! Was the absolute worst.

I don't really understand what Man United are doing really. Brentford asked for £65 million for a guy that just scored 20 goals in the Prem and has been a solid performer for a few years now. They aren't even being unreasonable with that valuation when you look at the fees for Elanga and Kudus. Think it's Man United ballsing that up. With the Wissa fee, I did wonder if that was so high initially because they were anticipating Mbeumo had pretty much left already, but now that's been on hold for ages, perhaps there's a bit more flexibility with Wissa, and maybe they then shut down the Mbeumo move altogether, which would be just brilliant.
-
Well no one knows that for certain. So far they've only received a £25 million bid for him, so we don't even know how staunchly they will hold to that £50 million valuation if a team bids higher than that with a full upfront payment. We'll soon find out.
-
Keep up man. Depends on how much is paid upfront.
-
That's an interesting wrinkle at the end there, regarding payment terms. Think our £30-£35 million valuation is spot on too, and if we pay most or all of it upfront, maybe we pull that off.

What makes me think there might be some merit to this, is how expensive the deal for Ekitike was starting to look, as Frankfurt were insisting on paying the full release clause.
-
Heard any tidbits on what we may do next regarding the sort of striker we pursue?
-
Hmmm. Maybe. Think Wissa is more of a striker/left winger though. Not really a playmaker in the Pedro and Ekitike mould.

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

Man Utd have lost their minds. Why sign another striker that wants to drop deep and get involved in play, when you have one you don't know what to do with already, as your manager's setup plays two 10s! -
Both Delap and Wissa aren't really of the versatile playmaker profile either though, so difficult to say that is purely what it comes down to.
-
Added bonus of this signing would be further complicating Man United's move for Mbeumo, as they are not keen on losing both this summer
-
So what's the peak of what should be paid for Wissa then? £30 million? Considering he's also in the final year of his contract too if I'm not mistaken.

We didn't even agree a fee with Frankfurt. -

Well seems like we have moved on, so that's a good sign -
Think he would come as a rotation option for Isak. Think Brentford were talking about £50 million though, which would be a lot to shell out for a 29 year old. If at certain points we want to go with two up top, not sure how well that works either. Unless like when Isak paired with Wilson, Isak plays more of the free role, dropping into spaces, as I don't really see that in Wissa.
-
Not sure we're only looking at that specific profile, as we went for Delap. Ramos is not a dynamic creator like Pedro and Ekitike are, but more of a link up forward with slick first touches and first time layoffs and passes. Would still work well in a support striker role. More of a Teddy Sheringham type than a Rooney if you will.

I think the forum in general leans more towards a more negative outlook, and so it can get a bit much once a good number of people are continuously posting about their concerns in much the same manner. Think it's that more than the concern itself. Is what it is though I guess. -

Perfect. No problem with that whatsoever. -

You're allowed to worry all you want though. But not sure what the benefit is of continuing to post about how worried you are. Why not just log off and check back in at the end of the window if it's all unsettling you so much? -
For what it's worth we're listed as one of the clubs Sesko's agent has reached out to in the last week, once Arsenal confirmed Gyokeres.
