It depresses me greatly the death of the 10 in football, absolutely love Riquelme. Just don’t see players like him anymore, sadly.
They're completely extinct. Football has changed so much.
Hardly any real number 9s either. Back in the day felt like every team had at least two proper strikers.

Not when I reinvent the tactical wheel by bringing in a 10 in the mould of riquelme. Pep won’t see it coming
I loved Riquelme soo I'm with you bro

If folks on here managed the team we'd get relegated.
After every game they want to start this one and bench that one.
We wouldn't win a single game.

By the way, that Ferguson kid ... yikes.

It's not the fact we lost that is disappointing it's how poor we were. This is Brighton - people are giving them far too much respect. I'd expect us to at least have a go.
Last time we played them we pressed them hard and overwhelmed them.
De Zerbi made adjustments dropping Pedro in behind Bruno every time and they were breaking it with his ball carrying through the middle.
Teams respect is a lot more now and are adjusting to what we did last season. We too will have to grow and adjust also.
We may really need to consider countering teams instead when they do a good job of shutting down our pressing game.

I’m not even that angry tbh, I’ve come to appreciate what a miracle last season was and always viewed this season as being really difficult. It almost feels a bit transitional. I just hope Howe is given time from fans and the owners.
Amen man. This is exactly where I'm at. Last season was outrageous. It didn't even make sense.
This season is going to be the most difficult because of what we achieved last season and what people now expect us to do this season.
I would not want to be Eddie Howe at all this year. God help him.

We’ve played 4 games and lost 3 and you’re having a go at people for being annoyed, and doing it while the 3rd defeat was still happening. We all support the same team give people a break.Bro ... I really was not having a go at anyone.
Just sharing my own perspective on things. Just like they are.
Having a go would be telling them to shut up or F off.

The main issue with the last 3 results is the pressure it now puts on the so called easier run of games.
A part of me thinks this humbling start will be good for the players who might have been believing the hype around them.
Definitely going to be good for a lot of fans who have gotten completely carried away with last season's achievements.

Non of the players can whinge about lack of support this week. The away end did us proud at the end there.
The away fans were absolutely amazing. Couldn't believe it.

How much do we reckon Chelsea will be paying for Ferguson?
They will absolutely bid for him. God knows how much.

Losing is fine. The manner of the last two defeats, however, is worthy of criticism. We have been extremely ponderous on the ball, and have lacked intensity and aggression off it.
It's clear that there's a lot of work to be done in the international break.
There's going to be plenty more ups and downs as we transition into becoming the team we all want.
We will get there though IMO. Until then I'm just not going to freak out too much losing to Man City, Liverpool and Brighton.

Trippier and Joelinton shocking. Schar pretty wank too.
You can't have your senior players fucking about in games like this.
I'm not one for square pegs in round holes but Wilson has to start, so does Isak. Accommodate them and we will win games.
The best thing about all this is the whole team has to be reconsidered, formation, lineups and team selections. What we do in the market as far as signings going forward too. And these things will all be addressed.
I'm looking forward to it. Schar a d Burn are looking on their last legs as far as starting games goes now. And the midfield will have to be looked at.

Nobody thought we were Man City
Just fucking nonsesnse.
We started bad last season and the same was said. Luckily this season we've lost 'reasonable' games, but the Liverpool one agai st 10 men feels like a massive missed opportunity.
Well this is real life football. Shit happens man.
We've played three good teams in a row and absolutely nothing is promised.

Give over with this attitude man. We’ve lost three games in a row people have a right to be annoyed.Of course, here we go
Your fault for thinking it's impossible to lose three in a row to the teams we have.
Like seriously, what do you think this is, a video game?

Some mental posts in here
Yes we have lost 3 in a row, but they are 3 fixtures we almost always struggle in. We need to focus on the bigger picture.
Folks couldn't handle last year's success man. They really thought we were Man City.
Well ... now receive your humbling and calm down.
Fair play to the away fans though. Still singing and getting behind the team.

De zerbi is fucking class BTW
The whole Brighton operation is and we'll get there eventually too.
Brighton are no joke and are going no where. No matter how much people don't like to admit it.

Some folks on here really deserved to have to watch Steve Bruce manage this team every week
And they really deserve results like this, so suck it up and take it.

This teenager is really just taking us to the cleaners.
I recall people on here mocking Brighton and De Zerbi when they got done by West Ham.
Well ... now we're going to have to swallow this trouncing.
-
This is just comical at this point
-
Well at least all the people whining for Anderson and Longstaff should be happy!
Once again no DM protecting the centre backs.

Bruno needs more support in the deeper position, especially defensively.
As others have suggested a double pivot with Tonali I think would help a lot, and we need to then have Joelinton play a bit further up and closer to the striker and to not be as involved in the deeper build up moves because he is not as good as that at all.
I'd try more of a 4-2-3-1 setup with the same personnel as a starting point perhaps.
