Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks Mikel is average at best. Once heard a guy over here say he's going to "revolutionize the holding mid position."
Chelsea have actually ruined Obi Mikel. He is never a holding midfilder and it's crazy how they play him there all the time now. He had so much promise coming up as a youngster and was very much more a midfielder that played just behind the striker/strikers, where he utilized his best strength which was playing exquisite through balls to the front men. Very much a forward thinking player who has been ruined by Chelseas inability to replace Makelele. Obi Mikel has gone from filling in briefly to playing there all the time now, and it's tragic.

He'll do well for Everton and will not be a waste of wages as someone on here has said. The two things you cannot deny about Beckford are that he has a lot of pace and is a good finisher. I like his chances with the quality of players, midfielders especially, in that Everton squad. His workrate can be a bit suspect at times, but Moyes will be good for him from that standpoint. I doubt he can be any lazier than Yakubu is.

nice dive stevie
the guy is pathetic.

Gerrard diving what a surprise!!!
-
Milner and Gerrard have switched. Milner now on the left.
-
Great defending from England ...
-
We miss Ashley Cole so much. Gerrard is a waste of space in this system.
Gerrard is horrid out on the left I agree. Was interested in seeing him play behind Rooney today but no deal.
-
We need to start bullying this team, they're so weak and suspect defensively.
Bullying teams, long balls off Crouch's noggin ... time to get Allardyce in.
-
Something embarrassing about this. What a horrid goal.
To make that goal even worse it was actually offside.
-
Crouch's technique.
Incredibly awkward.
-
Now that was a terrible strike from Vela.

Nee atmosphere there like.
Because England aren't in the game.
-
Mexico are class ...
-
England getting run ragged. Great save by Green though.
-
Theo is just too excitable. Clam the heck down. Such a waste of speed at times.
-
It's been 20 minutes, we're playing against a good footballing side, the game is going as expected so far.
It's a home game against Mexico though, and England aren't even touching the ball.

England are incredibly poor. Are Milner and Gerrard really on that pitch?
-
Rajkovic like Cleverley both have contracts that are up in June of 2010. Are they guaranteed to be resigning with Chelsea and Man U? If so when is this likely to be done as it does seem a bit late in the day. Wonder if there is any chance we could get either on a free.

Jenas would be a huge risk that's for sure. He would have to play pretty well from the outset, because of he starts poorly he won't be given much of a chance by the fans. He isn't a strong character at all either, so he will completely implode if things aren't going well for him.
-
Jenas has all the attributes you would want in a midfielder, but it's like he seems to bottle it when the lights come on and it's time to perform. Having said that, someone like Hughton might be really good for him as he inspires confidence in his players and is a very calm and steady type. Jenas generally seems to lack the confidence to try things, and looks like he plays not to make mistakes a lot of the time, which isn't good. He'll need to be encouraged to be more positive, which Hughton seems good at, and so it could work.

Chelsea apparently has tabled a bid for Touré Yayá.
Hope we keep him.
Seems a weird signing for Chelsea. They have Essien and Obi who both fill the same role well. They need to be concerned with replacing Ballack and Deco instead of those two.
Fat Sam apparently wants Nolan at Blackburn ... hmmmm.
SELL!!!
I could so see Allardyce offering around £6 - £7 million for him too.

That would be a really good aquisition for Chelsea. Wouldn't sell him to Chelsea, who are Champions League rivals, if indeed he was to be sold.
I could see Barca accepting a decent bid to offset all their spending though.

Petrov would last 5-10 games before breaking down and he is into his 30s now. If we don't have much money he would be a ridiculous player to bring in.
