How am I being daft ? He’s got close to 50 goals the last 5 years in a terrible negative palace side. And whose place is he taking ? He’s a better winger than Gordon, Miggy, Maxi, Murphy and Joeltinton so take your pick.

Joelinton played 15 games on the left last season and finished with 6 goals and 1 assist in those games.

Had a bit of a breakout in that position and was really starting to emerge as a bit of a force there. The cross field diagonal from Schar to Joelinton in on goal being the hallmark.

It's not ideal unless you have a cash flow problem. Do release clause payments not get rolled into the total transfer fee for FFP?

Don't think it's and FFP issue per se. Just don't think we'd want to pay that £60 million all upfront if we can avoid it.

I really don't know what people see in Mount. Goes missing a way too often. Has the legs that Eriksen does not have, but passing is lot worse.

If he would be let's say German or Dutch player, price would be half of that max.

At the start of the 21/22 season he was only 22 years old and went on to score 11 goals with 10 assists in the Premier League over the season.

I think Man Utd are betting on him getting back to that kind of form, which is very  likely I think. Chelsea have been a complete shambles recently and it has hampered a lot of their players.

How has he played since the cruciate injury?

He's been okay, certainly not at previous levels, but seems that might partly be down to his fit in Allegri's current setup, as he isn't happy with it.

nah £10m not that much at all. In fact Staveley might as well just forward it to me.

It really isn't for a player of his calibre. Probably meet in the middle so another £5 million.

I wish when you see these you'd post the link at the time man.

The amount of posts you make like this where I think "have we?" then have to go on Twitter and search "KaKa's player Newcastle" to see a random link from 3 days earlier.

I usually see a bunch of this stuff on NewsNow when checking it out during lunch or something, but can never find them when I look back later as the links get buried amongst a bunch of other stuff.

I cannot let myself believe we'd be getting Chiesa tbh.

It's shocking man, but it seems real. Apparently he isn't happy with Allegri's 3-5-2 as he has been used as a second striker or wing-back.

Juventus are also hesitant to give him a big new contract as his current one is about to run out, and they have financial issues, and he isn't a fit in the current setup.

Apparently it's Liverpool, Villa and ourselves that have shown strong interest. But we have Champions League and have just signed his compatriot Tonali.

The Chiesa rumours need to heat up again.

They are still out there. Difference of 10 million Euros in price valuation between ourselves and Juventus apparently, which isn't that much at all.

We say 50 million Euros max but they want 60 million Euros.

Probably just a matter of time.

@KaKaThat’s quite a lot tbf, especially for a first offer that will likely be rebuffed.

Yeah, it's a fair chunk of money. Was just letting you know the figures the article mentioned. He certainly won't be cheap, I agree.

  10. Saw we've been linked with Guehi from Palace as the new right centre back option.

Makes more sense than the Joachim Anderson links due to his younger age.

Article also mentioned Guehi shares agents with a few of the current team.

He’s more of a ball winning defensive midfielder that can get up and down if needed.

There is also a scout report from a year ago comparing him to Tchouameni.

Yeah, much more of a physical ball winner that can pass really well and carry the ball out of tight situations. Going to be a great signing for whoever gets him.

Partey dropped off massively in the second half of the season, had some real shockers

True. The loss of Saliba was the killer for them though. Brought a new level of calm and assuredness to them defensively.

I think adding both Rice and Timber further helps them in those areas.

Unfortunately for Arsenal they have Arteta at the helm. He was one of the main deciding factors in them not pushing harder for the title in the end. He needs to learn to keep his shit together on the sidelines and set a better precedent from the top if they ever want to actually win the whole thing with him there.

You're not wrong ... however he was also the reason they were there in the first place. Annoying as he might be he is a very good coach and manager.

His work with the likes of Martinelli, Saka and Odegaard in particular has been top notch.

The decision he made last year to have Xhaka push further forward and not sit deep lumbering on the ball and making errors was also huge and made a massive impact.

Three seasons, 19 league goals in 90 league games for Chelsea.

Its not like he has been playing in a poor team either? ( This season apart)

Chelsea have had so much inconsistency from their wide players and attacking midfielders for a while now. They have not been convincing creating chances going forward.

Havertz at Leverkusen played in a more technical team that created chances and he scored near 20 goals there when he was just 20 years old, playing in attacking mid.

Think he will play that sort of role again taking over from Xhaka, and in that Arsenal team that use the ball so much better and create a lot more, I think he will score goals and look far more useful.

Although I’m not a massive fan of Rice as some on here especially at the figures quoted I think Havertz might surprise a few this year.

Either way I think it’s going to be a fascinating battle between Man City Arsenal Man Utd Liverpool Brighton Villa Spurs and us in 23/24.

I was watching some of his clips at Leverkusen back and I think he might be used in the role Xhaka played this past season, if so, I think he'll score a lot of goals arriving in the box from attacking midfield. He was brilliant at it for Leverkusen.

Its physical and def some creativity there.

Joelinton - 6 goals & 1 assist in 15 appearances on the left.
