Before Downing was fit he played Milner on the right and either Delph or Sidwell in the centre with Petrov. With Downing's return Milner was then moved in centrally to partner Petrov. Gabby has consistently been played with either Heskey/Carew upfront unless two of the three were injured or for the odd match where O'Neill wanted to be more defensive e.g. liverpool away early in the season I believe.
-
For the record the sooner they start playing Gabby/Carew alone upfront with an extra midfielder rather than Gabby and Heskey/Carew upfront they will be far better off.
-
Wrong I'm afraid. It's almost always Gabby and Heskey/Carew uupfront and a midfield four of Young, Petrov, Milner and Downing. Definitely a pure 4-4-2 side with two wingers.

The defeatist attitude of some on here is just patheticc honestly How do some of you even get up every morning. Man up for goodness sake.

Have you seen him for West Ham recently? More importantly have you seen his gut?! Horrible move imo. We need some fresh players with life in their bodies please.

I'll be quite upset if Taylor is put in ahead of him next season, because he is definitely a better centre back. Sees things very early and is always in good positions. Is very calm and good on the ball. Is an absolute colossus dealing with aerial balls. Really hope Taylor is moved to right back, where he really looked a much better player anyway.

Like Guthrie, but probably more of a backup next season I think. The likes of O'Hara and Boateng are a notch above him and should be targeted.

This season has been fun in a round about way. Never would have expected it. It's absolutely flown by too.
-
Shola is Ibrahimovic incarnated for freakums dikums
-
How great are Guthrie's freekicks
-
It's the way he casually strolls back from the offside position I particularly missed myself. That upright, laid back, leggy lope. No urgency and no knee bend whatsoever.
-
Unintelligent foul from Loven
-
Well there goes my Best prediction ... Shola got us off to a great start this season. Time for him to finish what he started. Go on son.
-
Or you're simply totally wrong. Barton will assist the goal and Best will score so there!
-
Today is the day Leon Best scores.

Given has to be the worst goalie when it comes to kicking the ball. I would demand players closing him down everytime. He is awful.

Great game. We've really come a long way this season. We actually play coherent football that seems to have some thought process behind it nowadays.
-
Yup, Keegan bottled it ...
-
Perch is really a great tackler. Promising that we were looking at him as he has looked good.
-
That was pretty irritating ...

Billy Davies is the most annoying man in football. Can someone tell that gimp to just take a seat and quit with the fake gesturing and posturing. Blatantly suffers from a Napoleon complex.
