A link but I'm too embarrassed to post it. Look alright ... it was tribal football, but bearing in mind it isn't an obvious player and Big Sam does sign some unknowns I reckoned it was worth at least a mention and a chat. Is that alright with you sir? Care to tell us a bit about the player if you can?
-
Anyone know anything about this chap? I must say I am hoping that Sam sticks to his tried and tested formula of bringing in players who are not as well known but who he has researched thoroughly and therefore he knows they can play in this league. I would hate it if he starts forcing the situation and going for big players for the hell of it. I would much rather see us take this opportunity to build a large squad of young hungry players with a point to prove (Baines would be a great start!). Although the new investment could be huge I would hate us to do or become the kind of club Chelsea have in the transfer market. It is disgusting to me. Anyhow if anyone knows what this guy is like please inform. I think he has a clip (Am I allowed to mention where?) out there somewhere but I'm at work so can't view. If anyone else can have a peep and fill us in. Cheers!

The competition between Babsy and Baines would be an interesting situation. There will be no competition. Babayaro is sooooo gone.
-
I remember this. Was a couple of seasons ago right? The young lad was quality. Where did he end up again?
-
He's s*** tbh, so glad we stepped aside and allowed Liverpool to sign him. He's a foreign Kevin Davies. He cost £10 million right? Yikes. I mean he is alright but yikes!

Kaka is the only one really. The rest are good but their time has been up.
-
Should have just gone 3-5-2 again and it would have killed Milan, just like it did in the second half a couple of years ago. Especially as Milan were playing one old, slow striker up front. Agger, Hyypia, Carragher in defence. Finnan, Gerrard, Mascherano, Alonso, Riise in midfield. Kuyt & Crouch upfront. Would have also allowed them to keep the three stooges Pennant, Zenden and Kewell off the pitch.
-
Couldn't disagree more. Milan are old. The player that has carried them all season is Kaka. Stop him and you stop Milan. Simple. A Man United team with Hargreaves playing the role Mascherano did tonight would have destroyed Milan. They were absolutely awful and clueless with Mascherano on the pitch shadowing Kaka. They could hardly get it out of their half. With only Inzaghi (old and slow) as their striker they were infinitely worse than Liverpool. The loss of Crespo and Sheva was huge for them. Awful team in my opinion.

Spot on. Kin hell even Kaka can see it. blueyes.gif Careful ...

Is Gerrard really better in the middle? Not so sure about this ... Mascherano was the better player and didn't deserve to go off it blatantly cost them the second goal as KaKa was in acres of space for the first time all night. Should have taken off Pennant and moved Gerrard to the right to accomodate Crouch and the change should have been made much earlier.
-
Needs to have a word with his mate Stevie G. He was naff! Missed an absolute sitter!
-
You better get used to that feeling. He will be your starting left-winger next season.

I have to say as irritating as I find a lot of Spurs fans, not necessarily you MJ, although sometimes you do try my patience ... I do admire the way your club goes about it's business. Tying up players sso early in the window it is untrue! I absolutely love that! By the time everyone resumes for training they have all already gotten used to the idea and probably moved into and settled in the area. Is it any wonder they then go on to perform at such a good level once the season kiscks off? Sam my man, I lvoe you big guy, but can we please get this show on the road?
-
I agree. We can't affor to because our whole team is in a mess, but I think at this moment in time Tottenham can. Like Gallowgate End says he does have a cultured left foot and you can see he knows what he is doing out there. Unlike many a young player who usually get by on just their outrageous pace or athleticism. Think Gareth Barry, but with more athleticism, speed and mobility. Obviously not as good as Barry yet but reminds me of him in his style of play.

Sounds crazy to me too! Especially as no one on here is talking about a 17yr old CENTRE-BACK!!!
-
Hmm...why am I sceptical about this claim? Because Newcastle aren't the ones that are in for him? No. Then why? I haven't said anything ridiculous have I? I haven't said he is a world beater or anything rmotely close to that. He does have a good build and doesn't look like your typical 17yr old tweener. And he does have a cool head on his shoulders and is very assured of himself in the way he plays, which is why I have said he is mature. Neither of these is a ridiculous claim I don't think!

how many times have you seen him? Can't leave much time for watching anyone else, if you have seen enough to judge him properly. eh? I've seen him around five times for Sothampton and two or three times with Wales. Does that meet your requirements? How many times do you have to see someone before you can judge them. What do you mean it won't leave me with enough time to see anyone else? Goodness grief ...
-
Bale is quality. Seen him a lot for Southampton. The best thing about him is that he plays with so much maturity. You tend to forget you are watching a 17 year old. Physically strong too.
-
Aaaaahhh! That would be Freddy putting in that last minute bid after Spurs have done all the hard work and scouted the player for us. Works everytime. Suckers! wouldnt be suprised tbh Apparently you'e offered him £40,000 a week but Freddy's scuppered your bid with an offer of £40,000 a week and half a cornish pasty.

Thats some kerching!! Not really ... It's an excellent investment when you think about it. At only 17 years old and already a first team player every week for club and country. Also physically mature so will not struggle in that regard. Can't knock them. It's a good move for them. I think Baines is more appropriate for us though as we need someone who is more experienced due to the tatters our defence is currently in.

Exactamundo! See it's not rocket science!!!
