  1. Isn't it much more likely that he would be presented at the end of the training session though? Patience is a virtue friends. Besides ... Colccini is at WHL, so it's Luisao who will be making an appearance a nyway.
  2. He is, he's at Spurs now training. Yes. I can confirm this.
  3. Dave I think you've jinxed it ... Corlucka deal has fallen through and Coloccini has opted to join Tottenham after they came in with a very late bid which matched ours. Watch this space. Closing in on Luisao though and should be abe to land him instead.
  4. SSN blatantly gone there to try and dig up some unsubstantiated mess that can be further used to make Ashley and the club look bad. Jumped the gun on the no Owen thing though. Idiots.
  5. Hey, at least it was something to talk about. People tend to take that stuff way too personally.

    Tiago on loan?

So a line up of this would be better? Jonas Tiago Zoggy Duff Personally, I would go with this ------------------Martins---------------- Duff--------------Owen----------Jonas ----------Tiago-----------Barton------- Warnock---Faye----Coloccini---Beye Assuming we sign Tiago and Warnock of course! You're forgetting Eto'o man No I didn't Eto'o is on the bench. Very important that we have some squad depth.

    Tiago on loan?

Would be an excellent move. In fact I wouldn't be upset if we just bought him outright for the £6 million. Tiago is a holding player who is more of a playmaker. Similar in style to a Xavi Alonso or Michael Carrick. Will also score the odd goal.
  9. I'm thinking Owen will drop a bit deeper more often and Oba will be relied upon more to stretch the oppositions back four. I'm thinking Owen will continue to link things up as he did last season in that 4-2-31 formation I showed there. I don't think Martins will have to do as much holding up as with that team the emphasis will be on passing and movement and we will do a much better job of maintaining posession and looking for effective through balls. E.g. Man United with Tevez and Rooney last year, neither of whom really hold the ball up as target men.
  10. If we can put out a 4-2-3-1 something like the following ... ------------------Martins---------------- Duff--------------Owen----------Jonas ----------Tiago-----------Barton------- Warnock---Faye----Coloccini---Beye I think that we would get enough creativity and attacking ability from that lineup.
  11. Because he's been s*** for them, moved there last Summer from Lyon (I think) Very strange the way it all worked out at Juventus ... He was good at Chelsea and very good at Lyon. Supposedly available at around £7 million, which would be a great price for someone of his experience and ability.
  12. Tiago is a realistic move I reckon. He's available, he's experienced while still being a good age and he's played in the premiership also.
  13. Smudger is just as lazy but can't score goals!
  14. Terrible player. Allows attackers to run at him as he backs off all the way into his 6yd box, before even thinking about entertaining the idea of putting in a challenge. Clueless defender. Southgate will be the toast of the town for Arsenal fans tonight.
  15. They've confused the bids. The bid is for Tiago and not Trezeguet.
  16. Can't help but think that this is down to dirty Harry and not King Kev.
  17. Manuel Fernandes was here for the Valencia friendly. Did he fly back?
  18. James // Aug 11, 2008 at 19:05 If there is any truth is this mystery MAJOR signing, then I would like to raise a point no one else has: It seems awfully unfair on Coloccini if they are announced at the same time. Because Coloccini is going to be a huge player for the Toon and should be made to feel welcome on his own. Not have his thunder stolen by this mystery signing. mackems.gif
  19. It makes sense having them presented at the open day that's for sure. If it is Coloccini, Derdiyok and this big signing is a midfielder then we are set. I think it is likely to be a midfielder because of the mere fact we were in for Modric and we since haven't brought in anyone like him i.e. a central midfielder who can dictate our play. If we were in for someone like Modric surely we are still looking to bring in a similar player having missed out on him? Remember how we werelinked with Xavi? It was merely a mixup. Xavi Alonso to the toon tomorrow!
  20. KaKa, explain yourself, otherwise you are in for an epic Fail. Colombian U-21 left back Bryan Angulo, 18, and Yasser Hussain of Qatar, 23, have been loaned to Boavista until the summer. The former has been loaned by the Spanish intermediaries Inverfutebol, while the latter comes from Sporting Braga. Boavista have signed Portuguese international midfielder Luís Loureiro. 31, whose last club was Anorthosis Famagusta of Cyprus. The Axedrazados have also secured, via intermediaries Inverfutbol, the services of Colombian international left back Bryan Angulo, 18.
  21. The only other left back is an 31 years old. This guy made a good number of appearances last season for Boavista and is very highly rated as an under 21 international. Just 18 yrs old too. Seems to tick the boxes as far as the youngsters we are looking at. I think it is most likely this fella if anyone.
  22. Wiki is wrong. Have a look around ...
  23. Nah ... this is more of a Bassong move. Another promising under-21 international we can develop. If he is indeed kept on he will most likely backup Enrique.
  24. Done a little digging ... Very highly rated 18 year old columbian international left-back. Very likely the guy we have here on trial. Boavista have actually been relegated due to bribing referees so they are struggling to hold onto their players. Anywya Angulo was on loan from South America anyway. It is thought he was actually bought by Betis and loaned to Boavista but apparently he is still owned by his South American club. http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-639591.html
