Palace offering Zaha a four year contract worth £200,000 a week is a bit mad

    Lawd have mercy!

That is shocking, but he's their local hero, so I kind of get it.

He should just stay there if he has any sense.

Been watching Ugarte closely since our link to him. Not entirely convinced currently; seen him in 3 full matches and I can count the amount of times he’s passed the ball forwards on one hand. Silky on the ball and great defensively but he’s got this annoying habit of always taking too long to release a progressive ball and then making the safest pass backwards. Still young but for how we like to break quickly, I think he’d infuriate fans (especially if the rumoured 50 million price tag is true).

Watched him a few times recently and I know what you mean. I think I agree with you.

I was reading up on Haidara yesterday and watching some scouting clips of his, and I think I'm now leaning more towards him, especially because he has a wicked long range shot, which I would like our 6 to be able to unleash when just outside the box.

Haidara is just a much more progressive and confident passer and is also really versatile. He'd play the 6 role closer to the style Bruno currently does while adding more athleticism and speed defensively to help better protect the defenders.

Hopefully we'll be playing nearly 60 games next season. He'll get plenty minutes under his belt

I think Wilson will be fine with it and at this stage of his career should embrace it tbh, as it probably extends his career. The guy cannot handle being the lead man as his body lets him down too much. This should work out perfectly for him.

There's also news that Nagelsmann is open to Spurs and they are looking at him again since he pulled out of the Chelsea job.

This is funny because a lot of Spurs fans wanted Poch back and a lot of Chelsea fans were wanting Nagelsmann

One set of them or maybe even both could potentially end up really unhappy with things if things don't look good early on.

    We've completely discombobulted that club.

Man, I'm listening to Talksport just now and the way Spurs fans are calling in, in distress man. There's some guy on now screaming down the phone ;D

he's surely an asset in any NT squad. An option that you can bring in for 3 or 4 different positions if you need his particular skillset and physicality. His aerial ability either out wide or in the middle is massive and I wish we pinged more crosses to the back post when he plays left wing. There was one yesterday that Isak should've left for him and it could easily have been a goal.

I think this is one of the reasons Howe likes to play him on that left side.

There was another he was definitely going to head in that Porro just managed to flick away.

Honestly I think he would do a good job at Chelsea (as an interim).

Banter aside. Redknapp knows football and he knows a baller when he see's one. He'll do a better job than Stellini and Lamps. The Spurs one is difficult in the short-term because the squad is built for a back 5.

Chelsea need a proper football manager. Not a coach like Potter. Not a Lampard. A football manager to come in and make decisions.

Yeah, to be fair I do rate Redknapp and have said it on here before.

Just find the Spurs situation a huge mess and can't believe in 2023, Redknapp coming in even for the short term, would be an upgrade for them.

  8. Man City, Liverpool and PSG all lusting after him according to various reports over the last few weeks.

The goings on at the club right now are just too epic and special, and he adds another £50 million to his value every game he plays. Can't see him leaving at all.

Very satisfying to see these clowns all wanting him now. We were sat in the bottom three in the league when we signed him, while they were all fumbling about chasing the obvious names as usual.

    Unlucky!

You know that Einstein definition of madness about doing the same thing over and over? Just saw headline on SSN: "Barcalona make Aubemayang their number 1 striking target this summer"

    What...

Romano was talking about this on his podcast. They are actually going to pay money for him too

They apparently want Firmino but the wages might be an issue. Barca are just a complete farce.

  10. Yeah, I see what you're saying. But you have to take into account the way Ashley treated Rafa, and then replacing him with someone that should never have had that level of job. Definitely grounds to cause a huge stink and ask to leave, and the fans would have definitely understood why.

The 2nd touch (with his left) after receiving the pass from Willock is absolutely perfect.

His touches were so perfect in that sequence he doesn't slow down a bit, and in a weird way seemed to pick up some speed and create more separation from Dier. Mental.

Isn’t he already on the coaching team. Sure I saw him booing Sanchez when they brought him on then off again v AFCB

Yeah, he is, but in a supporting role. The whole thing is ridiculous.

They'd just be once again putting someone in charge that has already been present when things are going wrong.

So you hear what you want from the manager, it all sounds great, you sign a 5-year deal and then in no time the manager's gone and being replaced by Steve Bruce.

Before you know it, your tactical instructions are "let's play" and you're doing cool downs in a wheelie bin.

I agree absolutely with your point, but manages generally don't last long these days, trying to pick a good one who might stick about is almost impossible.

100% there is still so much you can't control, but I don't even think a lot of players get the first bit right, which is just criminal.

Also in the scenario you just mentioned above I would then be a lot more aggressive in demanding a move. If I signed for Rafa and they sacked him and brought in Bruce I'd be throwing the owner under the bus publicly and looking to get out pronto!
