Not that I disagree with the sentiment that he needs to be given time to settle in the squad, but generally speaking (looking past outliers like Joelinton) 22 years of age in football today is not an age you consider someone for the future. It's an age where a player should be able to make an immediate impact (especially if it's for a high fee) in the first team. If Gordon starts performing well soon, it'll more likely be more down to him getting used to the club, system, players etc rather than having improved as a football player mentally, technically and physically since we signed him.

He did well against Southampton when he was playing on the left, but fell out of the game completely when he switched sides with Murphy which is probably why he ended up getting subbed as Isak was taking the left side.

He's been here a few months and has hardly played as the team is currently flying

This is all incredibly strange man.

You're a right condescending prick at times.  People are allowed to have their own opinions you know.

Yes, just as condescending as you are about the player, right?

And by the way I'm entitled to my opinion on your post too, if I think your opinion is daft, so stop being a cry baby about it.

Wish I had your confidence, Kaka! But I hope that all of us negative cunts think the same as me, that I want him to come good but I just cant see it (right now)

Yeah, I know you can't see it. Like you couldn't see it for any of the other players.

I have no idea how it's going to pan out for him, but I'm certainly not going to write him off after a few months and keep on over reacting to every performance acting as if he's the worst player we've ever seen.

I really don't know what you lot are trying to prove with this kid man. It's ridiculous.

If we play Isak out wide, we 100% need another #9. Wilson can't play 38 games a season, let alone 50+...

Beto from Udinese please. For all you Osimhen lovers. He is a much more affordable version with a similar physical profile and presence.

En-Nesyri from Sevilla would work too.

Or Marcus Thuram on a free.

Sold in a year or two.  In five years he'll be one of those 'shit, I forgot he played for us' players.

You people never learn man. It's like you're desperate to make a fool of yourself

How may players at the club will be written off only to end up embarrassing you lot. Humble yourself.

This is a weird argument to me.

People have suggested he’s not a £40m player and we should have spent the money on someone that is.

I didn’t think he was particularly talented and I still don’t. He’s shown little in thr way of genuine quality.

I like him as an impact sub again at tired minds annd legs atm.

How can you know yet if he's a £40 million player when he is so young? At his age the fee is not for the player he is right now.

Who on Earth thought Joelinton was a £40 million player when we bought him for example? He's ended up being worth even more than that.

Just relax and let the man settle in. Way too early for making all these calls on the guy.

Klopp is such a cunt, but thats funny the way he pulls up! :spit:

The Premier League is impossibly entertaining man. My God ;D

  8. The optics of these results are going to be so bad for Spurs man.

What manager wants to be a part of this? What players?

This is a disgrace. Conte let off a nuclear bomb at the club and just dipped. Has left a complete mess.

Porro might be one of the worst signings I’ve ever seen.

Made all the more ridiculous by the fact they sent Djed Spence over to France on loan at Rennes, and he's been getting great reviews there after his fantastic season last year at Forest.

Pretty certain he'd have been a better bet than this Porro guy. He looks lost.

  10. Just a reminder of what Howe said about him prior to the Everton game ...

No, I don’t think we have seen the best of Anthony Gordon,” he said.

“There is more to come from him. We have seen glimpses of what he can do. There was a moment on Sunday when he nearly scored and showed his pace on transition. He has got so many qualities. Putting it all together for 90 minutes, we have not seen that yet."

“January transfers are incredibly difficult. An individual joining a new team, totally new way of playing. For a young player to adjust to, that isn’t easy."

“I am really pleased with him and I know he will be a high quality player for us in the future, and I know he is going to be the right signing for us because of the way he has reacted to the move.”

Isak looks so much better on the left against teams that drop this deep. When he's up front he drops deep anyway, but he couldn't get in the game today until he was moved wide. Wilson on the other hand loves these kinds of games where defences sit deep. He's so shartp in and around the box whereas Isak does his best work further out.

I see no reason why we can't start both. Gordon is a work in progress. He looks low on confidence and probably needs a goal to get going.

Yeah, Wilson looks to push right up and engage the centre-backs physically, and that unsettles them and also creates more space as it pushes them back.

To get the best of Isak as a striker, when he's dropping into those spaces, our passing into him needs to be sharp, and we need runners getting ahead of him when he drops. Really useful having the option to change it with Callum when it's not quite coming together.
