There were reports we had scouts at the Lorient game last weekend, is that not where this is coming from?

Yeah, I saw those. I was just wandering what @Dokko was referring to as far as the reports we had done back ground checks etc. Was wondering if that had been specifically reported elsewhere.

In any case, if he is on our radar, aside from his really good goal scoring run recently, other things that would have stood out to Howe will be his defensive work rate. He presses really well and is quite determined in that regard. What I particularly like about him is his awareness and link up play in the build up phase. as he uses the ball well in those instances. Got great size and decent speed too. He's not the finished article, but he has a lot of really great tools that a manager who is good at developing players would love to work with.

Funnily enough he actually did his schooling here in the UK. Attended some sports academy type school that ultimately then got him a club in one of the smaller leagues in Europe and then he ended up in Belgium I believe and then France.

Sorry. I should.know better. I'd not.even heard of him until I had to go find how to spell his name (thought it was mofti the way the lad was swaying it!). ? but the Jeremy vine reckons we finished our background checks on him last week, and he would be a direct replacement for wood should he move on. Apparently for a big lad, he's not very good in the air, so yes, a direct replacement for wood. ?

Where did you hear this info? Would like to check it out.

You might be a happy man then. ?

Oh Lord! I'd be thrilled to have a decent Super Eagle player in the team man. Don't do this to me!

If it's Terem that probably means long term we are going to be playing two upfront, or Isak is going to be used as a wide forward more than we think.

    Moukoko can play wide forward.

Ah, okay. I thought so too, but someone posted on here recently that he'd actually hardly played there.

If he can then he's another excellent option because he's left footed and so would add another left footer that can cut in from the right side as an alternative to Almiron, while also being able to play upfront.

    Youssoufa Moukoko

Not a bad shout at all as a young striker that can add depth and get a good number of games with Wilson being particularly prone to injuries, and then eventually play a bigger role when Wilson is done.

I have a feeling it will be someone more versatile though that can also feature out wide.

  6. I imagine it will be a versatile striker that can also play out wide.

Thuram would be the perfect profile of player. He's a powerfully built mobile striker that can play as a lone striker, but can also play out wide and actually played out wide more earlier in his career.

Maybe the reports he wasn't interested in coming were off the mark?

Love that from his missus...."He's very happy all the time....it's annoying".

It's a bit unsettling how often I've heard women describe someone that is happy as annoying

Disagree, he's one of the best pressing midfielders in the country when he's on form. It's getting that consistency from him that's key.

Absolutely, and he also scored goals and did show that consistency last season at Palace. More specifically in a midfield three as a number 8, which is how we'd use him.

It's an absolute no brainer to take advantage of Chelsea's stupidity and steal some of their talented youth players off them, while their values are down.

I'd also take Loftus-Cheek as an added versatile piece to have in the squad. Another who has been messed about by Chelsea. At various points I've seen this guy play on the left, as a number 10, as a number 8 and even at wing back.

Chelsea have no idea of what they are doing. We should take full advantage.

Says a lot about what Eddie thinks about him that he's prepared to bring him on, when not chasing a game, and play him almost advanced central midfield and give him license to drift.

Eh?! ... we were chasing the result and he came on as a second/support striker.

Villa supposedly after Mikel Merino......I would be all over that mind.

No, no, just no! Love Merino.

If he is available we have to go and bring him back.

Ha cannot under any circumstances come back to the Prem and end up at Villa man. Hell no!

How worried are you about Bruno? Not the injury but the fact he was crying in public. Can’t trust a “man” like that in our engine room.

He was crying because he was that disappointed he would have to come off and couldn't help his team. He's a man of great character.

We had 63% possession and 20 shots to their 5. We were lucky with the penalty incident, but on the balance of play we were worthy winners.

About time we scraped a win like that instead of yet another frustrating home draw.

Yeah, Fulham did a good job of keeping us out really. Their defensive shape is solid and Palhinha in particular is excellent protecting their defenders in his midfield role.

That is a huge relief, we looked very poor today and still managed to get the 3 points. Thank god.

You though that was very poor?!!! My goodness ... think some people aren't realising what Fulham are doing this season, you should try and catch some of their other games.

I think Bruno being out might be mitigated by Maxi coming back in. Joelinton can do a job in the middle for me. He's a really good footballer these days.

I can see what you mean, yes. It just makes us dangerous in a different way.

Longstaff in that deeper midfield role, just needs to keep things a bit simpler and move the ball quickly, and not try to be Bruno. He did a good job of that today once Bruno went off. Lovely ball into the box that the goal came from too.

Really good sign that the team didn't fall apart or look discouraged once Bruno went off.

Wouldn't mind seeing more of 4-4-2 with Wilson and Isak like

Just so nice to have the option. Opens up a whole other range of things we can do tactically.

Big Kudos to Howe for making that change when he did too, just to give us the final push to bring things home at the end.
