Very interesting watching Nathan Jones and the players on the pitch after the game.
Looks like the players like him and are interacting well with him. Might be a huge turning point for him and them the rest of the way.

Arsenal fans definitely think he was shit for them
Guendouzi is absolutely class. From his first game for Arsenal I rated him.
No idea why Arsenal fans never took to him, think it was just down to the period of time he was in the team, as they were just not very good in general, and were struggling to get back to their best years under Wenger.
Would be a heck of a signing for Villa. He completely dictates matches and progresses the ball from the back to the top end of the pitch incredibly well. Wonderful midfielder.

Welcome aboard
Indeed!
Was never anything personal with the guy. I have a good friend that is quite familiar with a number of Arsenal players going back a bit and by all accounts Willock is a top guy. Just wanted to see more from him.
Looking back over it all. I think a big part of his continued improvement has been physical fitness related. Think he looks like his stamina and fitness are way up and he is benefitting from it massively. Far more involved from start to finish of games now. Very excited about him going forward. Really happy for him.

Joelinton is now a full fledged midfield monster. Almiron's transformation to a right wing menace is now pretty much complete.
More convinced than ever that this guy's got next. He's going to be the next big story for Newcastle by becoming a beautifully well rounded goal scoring midfielder.

Imagine being told a year or so that Joelinton would cooly slot home a perfectly weighted Almiron through ball to send us into a cup semi final. Incredible transformation from both of them.
Anything is possible in this life man. It's incredible

Been here just over a year now, and has probably added anywhere from £60 million to £100 million to the combined values of Joelinton and Almiron.
The best manager in the league.
-
Must be in the best shape of his life. Looks incredibly fit now and just never stops going.
Just needs to calm down a bit in the final third. Gets a bit too excited on his finishing.
-
Yeah, his cutting in and passing tonight was actually unbelievably exciting. He's really beginning to fully understand what he can do from that right hand side as a left footer coming inside with the ball, along with running in behind like has done so effectively.
This man is actually still continuing to improve even further. On the rare occasions under Bruce where he played in the number 10 he did show glimpses of threading through a decent final ball, and that was on full display today. Very very exciting.

Still can't get over this guys continued brilliance.
The level of sadness I felt for this guy under Bruce getting abuse while toiling upfront with everyone else deep in our box defending.
I would watch over his Hoffenheim clips and see glimpses of the intimidating dominating player he now is every single time out for us, and it frustrated me no end, because I knew Bruce was culpable.
My delight for him is immeasurable.

Lovro Majer, 24 year old Croatian attacking midfielder, playing for Rennes
Classy, cultured midfielder. Slot him in for Longstaff on that right hand CM side and we're laughing!

Weghorst in that Man 'Utd team is going to do well.

Chelsea or us ?
Would be a nice strong athletic DM to bring in for us. Could also maybe be Arsenal?

Spent all evening thinking about this post.
Wood and Murphy are absolute garbage and if they play significant minutes in the run-in we'll not finish top four IMO.
We've all got so used to seeing the majority of our first team play regularly.
With the log jam in fixtures we've had to do a fair bit of rotation today and it's been a shock to the system to see how poor the squad really is.
All this hasn't at all been helped by the lack of availability of ASM, Wilson and Isak this season. Ideally we really should be able to better navigate players being hurt though, as that will always be an issue here and there.
We'll get there eventually with the squad, but Ashley's piss poor ownership has just put us in a situation where so much work is needed.
-
Been reading up on this guy and he sounds mint. Pretty exciting link.
-
Our squad is so awful man. We're going to have some absolutely stinking results at points this season.
We would all love to start challenging for things and having cup runs, but that can wait another year. We're doing too well in the league and securing a European place this season has to be the priority right now. That is going to open up a lot more opportunities in the transfer market over the summer for us to really then have a better go of things next season.

Wood is so depressingly bad man. I don't even get mad anymore. I just burst out laughing

See our xG was 3.16. Lower than I expected tbh, we had so many chances to score.
Isak header from 6 yards
Isak shot straight at the keeper
Murphy one-on-one
Bruno goal
Anderson point blank range
Wood sitter
Willock blocked attempt
Ritchie edge of the box
Plus 11 corners, 22 shots, 8 shots on target, a couple direct free-kicks
The reason we didn't win is that we didn't convert our changes - everyone included. Scapegoats, favourites, reserves, record signings: all fluffed their lines. Fuck all to do with rotating the squad and not requiring certain individuals to play themselves into injury.
Yeah, was jut a frustrating day.
We really could do with improving our back up players though. Hope we do some business this January. Even if its just loans.

Missed two absolute sitters. No excuse for a £60m player.
My God

Incredibly frustrating result but so timely a reminder of the miracles Howe has been performing with this squad of players.
Also timely little push to perhaps make sure we strengthen the squad as much as we can in January.

I want Chelsea to win like. City are our nearest competitors and I don't see Chelsea putting a run together that allows them to gain on us. I'm far more concerned about Man Utd, then Liverpool, then Spurs.
Think a draw is probably best.
Don't want Chelsea getting any kind of momentum, especially if they are also going to start throwing money around as well too.

Love the look of Zakaria at DM. We were also in for him on loan apparently, before Chelsea came in. Such a shame.

Issues more mental? Like stop hiding from the ball and prevent yourself from being passed to? The bloke is mid level at very best. He ‘tries’ and puts some flying tackles in as an excuse for ‘pashun’ but he really seems limited to be honest.
I disagree completely. I've seen him have some fantastic games, it's just too few and far between.
And yes, I believe with more targeted coaching emphasising showing for the ball more and encouraging him to do so and to receive the ball in tight areas and make the right decisions with it, he could do better at that.
But I already know he's not a favourite on ere and so I'm not going to argue about all this.
-
I get the McTominay digs and that, but I'd be certain Eddie Howe would turn him into a monster of a DM for us.
The guy has a lot of raw ability. Have always thought his issues were more mental i.e. he just needs better instructions, direction and specific coaching.
