This, if Howe really wants an AM. I wonder how much it would take.

I'd go for Mac Allister over Maddison. Reckon he'll be more than happy to double his wage with us given Brighton's inability to keep Potter happy. Can't aee them appointing anyone anywhere near as high profile.

All it took was a few goals on the highlights last weekend and now everyone wants  Mac Allister. Come on guys that's so typical. Didn't see him mentioned once on here all summer, and in fact if we had been linked people would have been moaning!

And for what it's worth he is playing as a DM this season, initiating their play from the back and is not playing as an AM.

They want to talk with Poch & Zidane according to SSN.

    Ha! Completely forgot about Zidane!

That's who they're going to push the boat out for. Massive flashy name. Lots of trophies in the cabinet.

However, would be an appointment that could go either way really. Complete wildcard.

Yeah I know you didn't say that. Was more directed at the scouting team, because even though I understand them not wanting to take many risks up to this point, it feels like some absolute bargains slipped through our fingers this summer window.

Like that Kvaratshkelia for example. If it's true he would have never got a work permit then fair enough but there has been many other players transferred this window that I'd have like us to have made a move for.

Yeah, I think we'll get there eventually. We seem to be in very good hands.

I think Potter would be eaten up and spat out within a year or so by Chelsea.

Yes it would be an opportunity but Chelsea don’t have much of a reputation for allowing time. New owner seems the same as the old.

It will be awful for Brighton to lose him after their start.

Yeah, I agree. If he has any kind of slow start the fans would be on his back straight away and say the job is too big for him etc.

I like Potter a lot. hope he doesn't end up there.

Class, love a bit of club turmoil. Hope they fuck up the appointment badly and absolutely collapse

It's a huge appointment. I hope they make a terrible appointment that flops. Probably will be that German manager that eats his boogers.

They've already made a complete mess of recruitment this summer, so they are teetering on the edge of disaster IMO. Imagine letting Lukaku leave on loan only to end up sacking Tuchel afterwards.

But this shouldn't be a reason for them to not go for these kinds of players.

People said the same type of things about Pope, Targett and Burn just because they weren't glamorous Isak type signings.

I never said they shouldn't go for them.

We really seem to be on top of things from a scouting stand point and that will continue to improve.

I think we will increasingly start to do better deals abroad as other Prem clubs become increasingly more difficult to deal with.

    Eh?

if he has ambitions to win trophies he has to go to Chelsea.

I don't care for Chelsea at all.

Anyway, pretty sure they're too dumb to hire Potter.

That new owner is a bit daft. Pretty sure he'll go for a big name, just like he was doing with players all summer.

This new guy at Napoli Khvicha Kvaratskhelia would have ticked all the boxes what a fucking bargain. Just shows you don’t need to spend huge money.

Yes, you're right. However, most fans never accept it and don't really trust proper scouting and recruitment.

All they want is big names that have been on the highlights on Match of the Day the previous week.

If we'd been linked people would have been going on about his goal record or whatever other nonsense and would have accused the club of being cheap and buying players that are not top 6 players etc. before even seeing the guy play.

Not being funny, but you’ve been pretty defensive about Forests 21 signings and their scattergun approach, yet call Chelsea’s 9 signings “too much recruitment” and “doesn’t seem to have been that well thought out”? I know NFFC needed signings after a lot of loan players went back to parent clubs, but they’ve been FAR worse in recruitment than Chelsea imo.

Defensive about Forest? Why would I be?

Anyway Forest just came up having lost a lot of players and seriously lacking quality as far as the players they had in the team, and so they've gone all in, perhaps overly so, but they've decided to throw everything at it. You can kind of see what they're trying to do. Pretty much gone for huge numbers banking on a good number of the players producing enough to keep them up.

For Chelsea, I just don't understand what they're doing. They've bought in areas they didn't really need to and have neglected the areas that needed upgrading.

Can't believe how many defenders they've bought in recently while completely neglecting midfield. I don't understand how they've spent so much but don't have a quality midfielder that makes things happen creatively, which all the other top teams have (us included!). Their striker options are also horrendous considering the money they've been throwing around.

Just watched Man UTD x Arsenal, thought it was a great game, just excited to see some brazilian talent being decisive for both teams.

I'm actually hopeful for the next br generation, in this year's world cup they're already a pretty exciting one, but, think 2026.

We have, Vini Jr, Martinelli, Raphinha, Rodrygo, Antony, Richalison, Jesus and Pedro, and just at the attack we still have Vitor Roque and Endrick coming (if those two can fulfill their potencial, and the other ones keep progressing, we're gonna have one of the best front lines ever), pair that with Bruno, Fabinho, Ederson, Alisson, Paquetá (far from the classic brasilian  10 class but still, a great player), Marquinhos, Militao and Magalhães and we have a very solid 2026 cycle,(we don't have great wingers yet, that's our weakness).

Don't have wingers? Did you mean wing-backs?

You have Vini and Raphinha each side as wingers, with Martinelli and Anthony as options too!

    Soyuncu is shite

And on his way to Fenerbahce possible

Rather have him at centre back than Ndidi though.

Weakens both the defence and the midfield putting Ndidi back there.
