I wouldn't say we held on too long. He played a big part in getting us top 4 and deserved to stay and play the Champions League. It's just unfortunate we didn't have a better player to alternate with him on that side. Perfect time for him to leave now.

Miggy has had a really good time here the last few years. Great that he was such a big part of that 4th place finish. It's the right time for him to leave now. And if he does he will be remembered fondly in future I think.

Malen seemed to get in a lot more dangerous positions and seemed a real threat. Only Gakpo and Malen really looked like they could cause problems in the final third consistently. Memphis and Simons kept fluffing their lines.

Yeah, just a difference of opinion. The inverted wingers are definitely the tactical preference nowadays, but I still think the traditional winger can still be effective. I'm cool with whichever tbh. However, I'd rather have a very good right footer in that position, rather than an okay left footer just because.

When the release clause was agreed with Bruno there would have been discussions to come to an agreement on the minimum value we would be willing to let him leave for, as well as that window of opportunity we had in place. Even if Bruno did want to leave, I cannot imagine him forcing us to take less money, at an inconvenient time for us. And so if they weren't willing to meet the clause during the window that was available, and think they can come in later for less money or even for equal the clause, it ain't happening. The later they leave it, the greater the disruption to us, and so the higher the price above the £100 million clause.

Howe dealt with a lot coming up at Bournemouth. He's in a really good situation, managing some top players that he could never have dreamed of signing at his previous club. I really doubt he's at all rattled by the last few days.
