  1. Yeah, think that he'll be a great fit with Howe who apparently is quite particular about the people he works with, as they have to all be on the same page as he is. Emenalo is very diplomatic and not the sort of DOF that will be trying to interfere in the manager's business.

Howe apparently has a league table at the training ground with the win % of every player during all the training matches they have during a season - done to ensure intensity of the training is kept high

That is really clever actually. Adds a bit more meaning to it all as you just know the banter for the folks at the bottom will be relentless

Nice little touch and detail. Just fantastic actually. players must be having so much more fun on a day to day basis now. Could really tell it's been a complete shift from the way Schar was talking about what the others have been saying to him. Brilliant stuff.

  3. I really like the fact that they are being very judicious with money, as it's a very strong stance right from the outset.

From some of the links we've been seeing with players, it's very evident agents are gagging to rip us off. It's just so pathetic man.

Just out of curiosity...why and how exactly are Shearer and Bruce friends?

I'd imagine Bruce buddied up to him and sucked up to him so he'd speak well of him in the media, which he hoped would give him good sway with Newcastle fans. Typical manipulative stuff he always does with the media, hence his squadron of apologist henchmen.

  5. Funny how we were the only ones with sports scientists that deemed it necessary for no one to bother coming in for a couple of days every week. What an utter farce those lot were man. Criminals.

  6. Linked with both Jonathan David and Aurélien Tchouaméni today.

Two incredibly talented 21 year olds, who have been linked with all the top clubs. However, they will be guaranteed to play far more if they came to us first. Might be the strategy we go for to try and convince them to join us instead.

For the starting XI we need 2 centre mids and a centre half. I know the full backs are weak but I think we can get away with them, CF is the next priority, not so much to start but for if/when Wilson is out injured.

Three players with contracts winding down who would be incredible options are Zakaria, Tolisso and Sule.

If the takeover goes through in the summer we are probably looking at them, but in our current predicament don't think these are possible.

If we go on a crazy run of wins and find ourselves nearer mid table come the end of December, then maybe we have a smidgen of a chance, perhaps.

This seems so casual and basic. No intensity and no real plan or direction. Just a general warm up session and then a bit of a kick about.

Absolutely makes sense why we were so horrid under these lot man. In today's day and age they're probably running sessions no better than a secondary school P.E. teacher's football training.

  9. Linked with PSG left-back Abdou Diallo, who can also play at centre back. Formerly of Borussia Dortmund. Classy player, would love that signing. Currently out of favour in the PSG team, and so should be possible.

Similar profile to Nathan Ake, so would sort of make sense for Eddie.

Any reason their training at St James?

Probably just mimicking a typical week in the season. Train all week at the training ground and then more of a match day environment on the Saturday. I like it.

Paul Lambert brought a 49 year old Grant Holt in to play for us for a season.

When he joined, Lambert said to the press "He's a real man".

We all looked at each other quizzically, with a sense of "this guy is fucking nuts".

That’s probably the worst bit of ‘journalism/reporting/opinion’ I’ve ever read. By and large the majority of NUFC fans seem delighted with Howe, Gerard man, I’d have had him here, but he wouldn’t have had the red carpet rolled out for him, essentially he’s a nothing manager to NUFC and his so-called reputation as a world-class player won’t matter a jot in all eventuality. Our game here is so myopic, I doubt some rising Italian player will give two fucks about Gerrard’s playing career. It’s all about £££s. By the way, my son’s team-mate’s grandad is an avid Rangers fan and he says Gerrard will likely flop in the PL and most Rangers fans are fucking pissed at him right now, saying only a month ago he was happy and now he’s gone, leaving them kind of in the lurch and taking pretty much the whole back-team with him.

Genuinely can't believe he thinks players are going to be wowed by wanting to play for Gerrard at this stage of his career.

As is always the case with transfers, it's going to be far more about the way the manager clearly states how the player is going to be utilised in his new team, the financial package they'll be offered and the overall ambitions of the club going forward.

The article was painfully cringeworthy to read. Gerrard and Lampard (if he goes to Norwich) are clearly going to be firmly positioned as the new generation of managers that can do no wrong. Awful for them both, as it will just make their jobs far more difficult, because fans will not like the bias at all.

As with most of the national media, they haven’t got the foggiest what they’re on about when talking about this clubs fans. Or much else.

What I've come to realise is that they're all just a bunch of groupies.

They just fawn after these guys based on their reputations as players, which was even the issue with Man Utd's Steve Bruce.

So happy we avoided both Gerrard and Lampard. Such a relief, honestly.

Another Bullshit piece by Martin Samuels this morning, basically saying we (NUFC) should be kicking ourselves at not being 'bold' and going for Gerrard instead of Howe.

Yeah, posted about it in the manager thread.

Already has me rooting against Gerrard

  15. Remember when I said the media would be insufferable about Gerrard?

Well it's started already. Apparently we are kicking ourselves for not getting him instead of Howe and getting Gerrard would have been met with scenes similar to Keegan's homecoming!!!

What on earth that is based on I will never know, but I am just so happy we didn't end up with one of these media darlings that get fawned over by the press, so over that mess we experienced with Bruce.

Feel free to tell me to STFU, but my advice to everyone would be to accept that the club we support is owned by terrible, terrible people and to just accept that. You don't need to excuse yourself or justify supporting the club you've supported your entire life to anyone but yourself. You couldn't change the owners if you wanted to, if Newcastle fans couldn't be budged to boycott an owner they all universally loathed, they're not going to be budged to boycott owners that 97% of the fan base wanted.

If you start looking for hypocrisy everywhere you'll find it everywhere (because it is everywhere) and spend your time driving yourself crazy trying to show everyone the double standards - ever further grasping at straws to the point of outright excusing the owners of their wrongdoing. You're also playing the man and not the ball - just because there's hypocrisy doesn't mean they're wrong.

Thicker skins and an acceptance of the situation imo, don't let yourself excuse things you know are barbaric, or start picking at genuine arguments from the likes of Amnesty International or Hatice Cengiz, not just because it's a shit thing to do, but also because it'll also drive you mental in the long run. We all know that the majority of fans of other clubs are completely full of shit, they all are, we all were with Man City. Club owners are exactly the same and it's all about them using whatever argument they have available to them to complain about how it's now harder for them to succeed. We won the blood money lottery and they didn't - that's basically the depth of their complaint and knowing that makes it easy to ignore them imo. NUFC isn't specifically disliked by fans or other club owners for any other reason, Amnesty International and the like aren't specifically picking on NUFC either, they do this stuff across the board and rightly so.

As I've already stated before. Ask any fan that starts harping on about this, what they recommend you should do as a Newcastle United supporter and what they would do if Saudi bought out their team tomorrow, and see if you can interpret the beat boxing incoherence that starts tumbling out of their mouths.

This takeover and the progress of the team is going to be so much more fun because of the people now involved with the day to day running of the club.

They are all such a delight so far man. Really want to see them all do so well, which is a complete 180 from the previous jokers.
