There's certainly an element of risk, but with Howe I get the impression he is someone that is constantly learning and trying to improve, and so the time off would hopefully have served him well in that regard.

I wonder if the fact he has some familiarity with Wilson and Fraser would have been a part of all this, if it is indeed true of course.

The reality is that it would be a huge upgrade on our current predicament. Slight worry that if this is true, it's a bit of a rush job and more of a move to stay up with a premier league experienced manager, rather than really go for the best man we can get.

Thing about Howe is he could easily go on to be another Brendan Rodgers type as he does have that kind of talent about him I believe, and so maybe he does come in and really excels and grows into the role. I'd be cool with it ultimately. Except for the wife bit.

The one thing that makes me a bit nervous about Howe is some of the signings he made at Bournemouth. 

Solanke for big money was the main one, although he's just now seemingly beginning to find his feet with them.

This is a really good point actually. Think the idea was for Rafa to pretty much take charge on setting everything up and bringing in the people he wanted, and with he takeover slowing down considerably and Rafa going elsewhere, once it went through all of a sudden they had to start from scratch with alternate plans perhaps.

Yeah, Howe is fine, but after all these shortlists and keeping Bruce another week it would be a bit of a downer, but I'd get behind him for sure.

Yes, I agree with you on that for sure. I'm hoping they've now realised this and he's gone this week now, even if they need more time to get in their man. Let's see.

Hoping this all ends with us announcing a really good manager that we probably didn't think we could get. If it ends with a Howe or Lampard I will cry.

I think we all just need to take a deep breath though. I'm beginning to think that Mehdrad is aiming very high, and has kind of started by going for the very best and is working his way down rom there to see what is possible, which I can't be mad at.

For whatever reason they have decided to leave Bruce as the incumbent in the meantime, and have deemed it the best approach for now. If we end up getting someone really good it will all be forgiven that's for sure. Here's hoping!

I'm usually not great at this thing, but the levels to which I have sunk this year are beyond humiliating. Actually considering deleting my whole account

Thinking about this I do kind of sympathise with them I imagine there are so many people jostling to try to worm their way into some position or role with the team in order to get their hands on some Saudi riches.

You can already get sense of it from the players and managers being linked with us all of a sudden, no doubt down to smarmy agents the world over. I do not envy the lot that have just taken over at all. I really hope they've got some decent football people around them with the right intentions.

Apparently Mehrdad wants a top manager to come in. Maybe he didn't fancy the managers McParland and Brown were suggesting, as they were probably more likely to be the ones suggesting Gerrard and Lampard.

The manager has basically managed to get them £40 million for a player that is now unlikely to fetch us more than £5 million. Shocking.
