There is man. He just doesn't mess with you.

Really pleased for Harry Kane man!

What a ball from Havertz. On a plate ...
-
England need to keep their heads and not get too carried away here.
Oh my God ...

Unbelievable that saka is coming off
Can only have so much excitement or forward threat in the team. This whole thing is just sad.

Werner for Gnabry is a good change like. Worrying.
-
England need to sack off Southgate and get Wenger in before the French are smart enough to do so.
Genuinely cannot believe this is the England team and performance being produced while the likes of Grealish, Foden, Sancho, Belingham and even Mount are sat on the bench.
-
Raheem could have played Saka in there too and passed it up. Happens all over the pitch with England. So frustrating.
-
Maguire there does well to win it and then passes backwards ... there were options ahead of him. I don't get it.
-
Think Kane has had enough of this.

Just look at the difference in how Germany play that ball into the tight space and the first time pass out wide allows them all to be able to advance into much more dangerous positions and ultimately gets Havertz a great chance. England just don't manage that initial pass into tight areas, ever.
-
Shaw and Trippier don't run at defenders, which is another huge issue with this setup. Need your wing backs being able to take people on.

Walker and Rice are not attempting any positive passes.
This is NUFC on an international level. Relying on defending and the occasional individual moment. Completely unable to pass the ball through the opposition.
How many times have we fed the ball through to a player in between their midfield and defence? Zero, I reckon.
This is what I'm seeing too. Making it so easy for Germany to get back in position and close up all the space. Would hate to be a striker or attacking midfielder playing in this England team. There is a complete separation between the front three and the remaining 7 players.
Havertz and Mueller on the other hand have got regularly delivery into those half spaces and have caused some problems. Werner for example should have scored from that through ball from Havertz high up the pitch.

Kane to Philips
Completely backwards
But he's stuck up there against three centre backs and none of the build up has allowed Sterling or Saka to get the ball in areas where they are closer to him.
He's going to have to come deep but not sure that will ultimately be to the team's benefit. Rice and Philips need to do better passing the ball forward, so the front three aren't having to come deep to get it.
-
This is a very Steve Bruce like setup from that first season of his in charge. With Kane doing a great cameo as a lonely Joelinton up top. The build up play is bad.
Unless the centre backs drive forward or Saka gets it and turns there is no other pattern of play really.
-
As mentioned earlier England are not dealing with the Germans dropping into the half spaces at all. Despite playing two DMs. Real bad news. Havertz is looking dangerous.

Love how Kane is really at the heart of everything so far.
Feel sorry for him. The midfield is not good enough at advancing the ball forward. It's why he ends up starting to drop so deep. The build up play is often too slow and predictable.
-
Philips and Rice are not brave enough or confident enough playing balls in between the lines. So cautious and negative. Love going backwards.

Yup, very involved in both goals. Key pass to set Shaw up for the cross on the first and then gets the assist after.
Nice to see the Man City boys linking up so well already for that second one ...
