  1. As far as the penalties are concerned I'm guessing they decide on the order beforehand and then just stick to it no matter what? If so, why don't teams just send their best and then more experienced players all first? I don't get it.

You never want to end up in a situation where you end up knocked out with better penalty takers having never even stepped up ahead of younger kids etc. Even after Rashford and Sancho missed you were still in it. To then send Saka up next in that spot was crazy. Had to be Grealish to take that next one.

Okay, so that's one you can possibly discount.

Loads of others including videos. If you want to believe this is some sort of stitch up job on innocent England fans, you crack on fella.

I can't even begin to tell you how disturbing it is that there is even one black person sending out those kind of tweets to stir up trouble. This world really needs to just end and quickly.

Would be so much more hassle to play for Jamaica

Logistically 100%. Not sure what the state of the football association there is, but it's probably not great. But at some point maybe it takes the players deciding to sort it out themselves by making a commitment from their end first. And at least once it comes to the football they'd all know the people are all behind them. I just can't imagine being a parent of one of these lot and advising them to play for England. The joy of international football is that buzz of having a whole country behind you. Seems these lot are just tolerated as long as they don't screw up.

I'm sure Ozil got some stick didn't he. I'm sure it happens to other teams as well, we just don't see it.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if this wasn't an issue elsewhere too.

I just can't imagine why on earth the future Sterlings and Rashfords would continue to put up with it. They could be doing amazing things for Jamaican football instead and having an absolute ball every time they went back there, as real heroes for the country. Think I read somewhere Greenwood is thinking about representing Jamaica instead and recruiting more players to do so.

Yeah it's a minority but a significant size.

Hearing some of the stuff in the pub today made me sick tbh.

It's interesting really. Does this happen with other European teams as well? The French team for example, with the likes of Pogba and Mbappe etc?

If that many fans feel so strongly about it in this country then why not just leave the national team to them if you're not English through and through. Very simple solution.

Social media has become one of the great cancers of society.

It's just shone a light on how far removed everyone is from believing in any kind of decency nowadays. It's only going to get worse too.

From a football standpoint I do wonder if the younger generations will start opting to play for their other nations more at some point. Probably not as glamorous a prospect, but at the very least they would be so much more appreciated and revered.

Can't even imagine the team Jamaica would be able to put together if all these boys chose them ahead of England.

I love Bonucci/Chi as much as the next guy, but they are 34/36. I think with a young attacking team and both of them on yellows we have to be putting them under more pressure. Lofting high balls to Kane to get beaten in the air was pointless

Yup. When you take into account the age and lack of pace of those two and two fullbacks who looked dodgy defensively, this was the game to go with more attacking intent at some point, but the manager chose to stick with the formula he has gone with throughout and it ultimately failed him at the biggest moment, as many feared it would.

It's a head scratcher as to why we let Italy send wave, after wave of attacks once we had scored. I was surprised we kept them out for so long but unfortunately, you knew that them equalising, was inevitable.

We had no outlet, we had all 11 men camped in our own half, and every time the ball got cleared, it came straight back. Really weird scenario/tactics, and we didn't change it, we just continued to let Italy pile the pressure on us.

Absolutely gutted because we have the talent to have finished the job in our favour tonight.

And then if you are sitting that deep why not bring on Rashford and Sancho with Sterling sooner to try and catch them on the counter?

They have two much older and slower centre backs in defence and they were pushed right up to their half way line during those moments they had the ball without a worry in the world.

Case of what could have and should have been for England after the perfect start for them. So so unfortunate.

Perfect opportunity at 1 nil to bring on Sancho etc. to catch them on the break. Gutless management.

Southgate is a nice guy but a bit of a dinosaur tactically; our press today was non existent.

Yes, 100%. The game could have been sewn up with a bit more initiative being shown earlier on in the second half.

Instead the team was just allowed to fall further and further back and start playing to hold on to the result.

Once Italy scored the team was just in limbo. Had no idea whether to push on or how to go forward anymore.

Rashford? Donnarumma went in completely the wrong direction. I actually thought Rashford had nailed it, he ended up giving himself most of the goal to aim at. Then he fucked it.

So difficult to get the connection on the ball right along with the placement when staring down the keeper that long. Don't think Rashford is good enough to be doing all that against Donnaruma man. Such a bad look.

Southgate has done well overall but he is overly negative considering the squad you have and had no response to Mancini’s changes.

Harsh but he’s just another PFM hoping for a bit of magic that can talk well outside WW2.

Really like Southgate a lot. Just a top guy, but ... he had t win it to justify the approach he has gone with throughout.

Mainly because I don't believe any of these teams could have lived with an attack featuring more of the likes of Grealish, Sancho, Foden, Bellingham etc.

It sucks man. He's done well, but it still feels like he didn't get it right on the whole. So much ability on the bench for this team man. Crazy.

Furious, tbh. Attitude was all wrong 60mins+. I dont understand it. We had them.

    Weak.

It's terrible man. Never felt they had the forwards to score against your defence.

And Kane was getting the better of their defenders consistently early on. Had to go more offensive sooner and finish them off. Played it too safe.

Been a good game for the neutrals. I feel for the young lads who missed the pens at the end there. Think the Hendersons, Walkers etc. should have raken responsibility there…

At least Sancho and Saka picked their spots and hit the ball fairly well if not the best, and forced a save from Donnaruma.

Rashford over complicating things by waiting so long to try and bait Donnaruma and then send it into the other corner ... well I just didn't like it at all. Terrible miss.

Fuck off sending up a 19 year old kid

Can you imagine having him go up next in that situation man

Can they not change the order in that situation? Man, so unfortunate.

England really should have won this in the first half before Italy had a chance to adjust to their starting tactic, but they sat on that one goal lead, and just weren't brave enough when Italy looked shaky.

So how many years as MA been here now? And he still has not managed to bring in a manager that will just use the players the recruitment team recommends. How bloody incompetent is that man? I mean how hard can that really be?

Love how triggered all the England haters are getting. Would take a late dive pen in the final too please.

Man, they're not hating on England as everyone agrees they were the better team and deserved to win. People always lament diving in football man. If ths was two other teams you'd be saying the same as what they are. It's just what it is.

It's great to see England make a final. I really fear some of you are seriously tempting fate with your takes though

Would you still take a late dive pen in the final if it's for Italy?  Can already see Immobile on the floor holding his face
