  2. A number of papers saying this morning that Arsenal are going to make a move this summer for around £75 - £80 million, and are in the lead for him ahead of other clubs. He'll only have two years left on his contract from the summer and so they're going to have to make a decision with him, as he's already on a pretty decent amount, I think around £150,000 a week. Think there's a chance he leaves if a substantial offer is made, and I think it's likely one will come, especially with how he's done in the Champions League this season, as that has got a lot of publicity and put him in the spotlight.
  3. Found this quite funny and pretty outrageous Florian Wirtz's agent Volker Struth has now revealed that he would like to see the Liverpool star at Real Madrid. The German midfielder made the £116M move to Merseyside last summer in what is one of the biggest transfers in Premier League history. Wirtz was criticised during the first few months of his time with The Reds but has grown into the player fans expected as he controls the midfield and dictates play. Before he made the move to the Premier League champions, Wirtz was wanted by several top European sides including Real Madrid who were keen on snapping him up from Bayer Leverkusen. Speaking on the Phrasenmaher podcast, his agent has now revealed that he would love to see Wirtz at Madrid in a message that will worry Liverpool supporters. "That year, it simply wasn’t the right time due to the squad and the budget. Even Real Madrid’s coffers aren’t always overflowing. But my wish remains that Florian will play there one day. "I wasn't deeply enough involved in the offers that were on the table. My greatest wish, of course, would have been to have Florian at Real Madrid to see – and I don't think I'm alone in that. “I also think he would be in very good hands there. He's doing quite well in Liverpool now, he's a very young player and who knows what might happen in his career." Wirtz signed a five-year contract with Liverpool, tying him to Anfield until at least 2030, but Struth’s words will frustrate fans who saw Trent Alexander-Arnold depart to the Spanish giants last summer.
  4. They'll give that as a penalty I reckon.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

He's highly rated. Personally, I think he's at the level to come in and compete for a first team place, which we'll need as Botman picks up so many injuries. I think it's more likely Botman's place will be at threat tbh, with Thiaw being comfortable on either the right or left side.
  6. He just doesn't seem to have the right instincts to play upfront. I've liked how he's looked whenever he's been played on the right, but he hardly gets any game time out wide, and so it's difficult to know what his potential really is in those positions. If we'd seen more of him out wide and he had looked consistently good out there, I'd have probably looked at keeping him as an option there instead, especially as Murphy is starting to get on now.

    Nick Woltemade

At Stuttgart he mostly played off another striker that made runs in behind, and when he shone in the under 21 tournament it was mostly the same sort of setup when he played off another striker. I think Howe had also wanted a more versatile forward that can play off a more traditional forward, so they can be paired together at times. He typically had that at Bournemouth, where he mostly played them as a tandem. Woltemade will be fine. He's having to drop deeper at the minute because we are missing Bruno, and so progressing the ball forward from the back is more difficult and he has to play more of a part in that. I think we'll eventually see him push further forward and play closer to the striker even if he's still technically starting in the left sided 8 position. Longer term, I'm sure we'll also still sometimes see him start as the lone forward, but with some adjustments with the other players around him to make that work better, which they haven't been able to work on as much this season. In the summer, the plan should be to move Osula on, and bring in a more viable option to challenge Wissa, that is more of the traditional striker that typically works in Howe's Newcastle setup.

The price was very high previously. With the agreement he has to move for that fee in the summer, if we really had any interest, then you'd think we'd go for it come the next transfer window..

    Nick Woltemade

Woltemade has 10 goals for Newcastle this season but it would appear his immediate future will be in midfield. ‘Even when he's playing as a No.9, as we used him, it wasn't to stretch the line,’ said Howe, speaking ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League second leg play-off tie against Qarabag, in which his side lead 6-1. ‘The role was to come lower on the pitch. Nick is very happy playing the role that he has done the last few games, there’s no fight with him on that. He's very much all in because he wants to showcase his best skills and his best skills are technically helping us link play. He does have a freedom on the ball to take up central positions and to drift to a degree across the pitch, so he’s not in a stranglehold by the position in one place. ‘The future's exciting regardless of which position he plays in. The hardest season for any new player from a different country is always going to be the first one. Nick had a great start but there was always going to be a period where he found it difficult, where teams were desperate to stop him. 'Nick was always in our thoughts as very much a deep-lying player, a deep-lying number nine. All his best work came from starting higher and coming lower. Now, just starting lower and staying in the middle line, I don’t think is a great change. I’ve been very impressed with him.’
  12. Yeah, these guys are in big trouble
  13. He did well at PSV and Leipzig, but it's looking too physical and quick for him at the minute in the Prem, and he's not making any adjustments whatsoever.
  14. Tudor played 3 at the back today and packed the midfield and they still got battered. These guys are on their way down man. West Ham and Forest look much better teams and I think they'll eke out the results to just get by Spurs.
  15. He's been doing this since he joined and still keeps doing it.
  16. This Xavi Simons is not just bad, but he lacks self awareness. Even now he's still trying to run by players and through players, despite not being quick enough or strong enough. The guy is shocking.
  17. Spurs might go down for real man. They are an absolute mess
  18. Never a foul man. Gabriel does that all the time
  19. The state of that defending man. Wow.
  20. Simons man ... just so awful.
  21. Arsenal are never winning the league man. No chance. So weak mentally
  22. All these so called top teams are so disgusting to watch. Liverpool were so crap earlier on and now this drab Arsenal team.
  23. Horrendous for Forest. Liverpool were absolutely rubbish all game.
