  1. Yeah, I understand, but it was still 11 goals man at what 23? In a team that mostly struggled.

Personally, I was surprised no one in the prem went for him after that season. He'd get more goals than Deeney at Watford, Calvert-Lewin at Everton or Callum Wislon at Bournemouth if you slotted him into any of those teams in my opinion.

    The guy is really talented.

  2. He's funny to watch and scares defenders, but I don't think he'll do that well in the PL. No hard feelings towards him, I just don't see any reason to particularly like him.

He scored 11 goals and had 3 assists in the prem a couple of seasons ago in a pretty ordinary Fulham team. He's already shown he can be productive at this level.

  3. Thought they would have gone for a right footer though instead of Ake with Laporte there

I usually see comments like this regarding left footers.

Most clubs play two right footed centre backs though, so does it really matter if you play two left footed ones?

I think it's quite important to have the balance when you're a passing team. I think you'll find that most top possession based teams will have one of each. Left footed players are generally more one footed than right footed players also

Okay, interesting. I always wondered as it does get brought up a fair bit. Be interesting to see how they play it.

Thinking abut it I see what you mean with left footers being more one footed, probably because they are more rare, and so they are always played on the left hand side and so don't learn to play the other side.

  5. We'll definitely be in big trouble next season.

Teams had started to figure out that they just needed to double up on ASM and crowd him out and it was having a big effect, because nothing else was really a consistent threat due to the team lacking any kind of coherent plan or approach in its play.

  6.

Interesting. Roma fans have turned on him, but from the article below it sounds like he's got some sense and isn't completely clueless. Would be a decent compromise to this entire debacle.

Would rather trust the fans, a newspaper could easily spin Ashley to be a decent owner

    Yeah, that's fair I guess.

Just so sick of Ashley man. So difficult following the team with the rubbish people he keeps putting in charge.

  7. I think Howe is a quality manager.

What ultimatley let Bournemouth down is their player recruitment.

They have spent some decent amount on players but none have really worked out. They seem to take massive risks on young players at other top clubs that might become something e.g. Jordan Ibe and Solanke. Only time it kind of paid off was with Ake. Considering the money that has been available to them, still using the likes of Gosling we got rid of eons ago is pretty crazy.

I think Howe isn't too strong i the recruitment area and so just needed a team that could get him better value, particularly from overseas.

I would have him over Bruce in a heartbeat in our current setup as he would get far more out of the players we end up getting in even as things currently are.

  8. So disappointing that the Reuben bros and Staveley couldn't find other backing for this.

Was always so complex with the Saudis. What was the group Staveley was with originally again?

She had Chinese money behind one of bids, not sure if that was original failed bid, or attempt last May. It was only November when Saudis came on board.

I know there was sovereign wealth involved in her 1st bid, but always presumed this may have been Dubai royal family ie Maktoum’s.

    Ah, okay.

Well the one small satisfaction in this is that Ashley has been screwed over.

All those times he was so full of it and messing other bidders about and now it's turned on him at the worse time due to this pandemic.

Serves him right. Hope he suffers major financial losses due to this whole thing.

  9. And the fat cunt wouldn’t pay an extra how much, for him?

Really happy he didn't. Aubameyang is a quality player and such a chill cool dude man.

Hate to even imagine how we would have managed to mess things up for him.

  10. Think that’s a fair fee - perhaps even a bargain. 25 and has played almost every game for Bournemouth three seasons running.

Yeah, he's a good ball playing defender and suits Man City's play. I like him.
