I'm all for showing Rashford who's the boss but still feels a bit unnecessary. Comments like that won't raise his value and might put off some teams who could be interested in him if Man Utd pay a large piece of his ridiculous wages.
Can't believe he's being that open and forthright about a player they're trying to shift

What I don't get is that NUFC are genuinely an exciting project, ambitious owners, deep pockets, trying to become those clubs that win. Elite potential.
With some of the others, Bournemouth, Brighton etc - it's not quite their business model, or sustainable etc. But it is for us.
It's like Ashley's NUFC has become the stereotype version of Newcastle, not Keegan's.
For me, Keegan's NUFC represents what Newcastle is supposed to be about.
What we're doing now, is finishing the job Keegan started. That lunatic really destroyed the club's reputation and image man.

It seems to be deeply ingrained in football media and it's disgusting. When Bournemouth beat us the Finnish studio host quickly started wandering how many of Bournemouth's players could get a move to bigger club after this season. I doubt there are many Bournemouth fans in Finland but it's just so disrespecting and happens to basically every team outside of Real Madrid and Barca.
I'll never understand it.
They're never excited about a new team emerging to challenge and make things more interesting.
Instead they start fantasising about their players going to 'big clubs'.

If anything, most on here realise we missed the boat on the likes of Huijsen and realise the need to get them before they come to the prem.
Exactly!

Most of these have come since the position switch too.
Imagine if he had been playing there from the start of the season!

Yep, no different to us talking about Mbeumo and Hujisen when their clubs are neck-and-neck with us in the race to Europe. Fine if it’s the fans, like, what I can’t stand is the media literally lying through their teeth in the guise of having any real intel.
Yeah, as Newcastle fans it's fine to want to sign a Mbeumo or Huijsen if they can be had, and their clubs can be tempted to sell.
However, I don't think anyone on here feels entitled to them or thinks just because Newcastle may be a bigger club they'd be stupid not to join.
Also we don't have fans from other clubs that have nothing to do with it chiming in every second about how they have to leave Bournemouth or Brentford to join Newcastle.
It's so bloody weird.

Milan, Juventus and Inter no doubt.
One thing I really hate about football is the attitude towards any sort of parity.
As soon as a player does well somewhere everybody outside of their club starts talking about them going to a 'big club' all the time.

Wolves and Villa going for CBs. Do they not know Lloyd Kelly is available?
I like Kevin Danso. Good defender.

Italian fans and media hate that he’s not at a traditionally “big club”. Heard it from my own Italian mates that “possibly the best midfielder in the world” is wasting his career with us.
Can't lie. This mindset disgusts me.
He's a key player playing a massive role in a team looking to unsettle the so called 'big clubs' in the Premier League.
But no, rather have him as just another cog in a team hoovering up talent.
What team do these gentlemen support? I demand to know?

I know how FFP works and while I’m not an accountant I seemingly know more about it than you.
Our wages were 75% of revenue alone. Add amortisation and we are likely already eating into our allowable losses.
Whenever the UEFA and PL rule changes kick-in our wages and amortisation costs must be a maximum of 75% (or close - forget off hand) of revenue. Forecasting From the facts we know today, that’s going to be difficult to achieve while keeping our best players and significantly improving the squad.
Yes, I know this is your obsession.
When the summer comes along we'll see what transpires.

The quoted post (plus others following it in the thread) pretty much sums up the situation with PSR. We should have some room for manoeuvre but it's not just a case of heavy losses from 3 years ago dropping off unfortunately.
Yes, I know that's not the only thing, but it's a big part of it. I think the article I posted explains it all quite well.
Room to manoeuvre is what we need, rather than not being able to spend at all like the summer past.

And they will be replaced by years when our amortisation and squad costs are so high vs revenue that we can't spend significant amounts of money without sales.
The proof is literally in the pudding
our recent transfer record and the comments from Howe and that players agents.
PSR is based on an allowance of up to £105 million in losses over the previous 3 years.
This summer the 21/22 season drops off the calculation, where we spent a bunch and didn't have any new income arranged yet. It will be replaced with this season which will include new income and where we didn't spend much in the market.
This is all explained here:- https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5599305/2024/07/01/newcastle-psr-player-sales/
Although further exits will follow, for now, at least, the focus turns to incomings and Howe’s desire to sign a centre-back, right-winger, forward and another goalkeeper. With the 2021-22 accounts dropping off the three-year PSR period and lucrative sponsorships like the shirt agreement with Adidas bolstering Newcastle’s income, they should now have decent capacity to invest in their squad again

I disagree man. Those times they had Lacazette upfront. We must know a whole different type of Arsenal fan.
When that whole license plate thing occured it was mid season.
Isak had scored 4 goals in 17 matches so far. They were not excited about signing him and were talking about his previous good season being a possible anomaly.
The guy they were excited about was Vlahovic who they were also being strongly linked with at the time, and who was going crazy at Fiorentina, scoring a bunch of goals.
-
I genuinely can't believe how poor Man Utd look going forward.
-
West Ham look much better already under Potter.
Still has Bowen to come back into the fold too.
He's a good coach. Glad it's working out for him.
-
Paqueta is such an ass.
-
Was really risky selling Diego Carlos before getting another defender in.
Doesn't look like they have any other centre backs.
-
West Ham looking good. Might snatch something from this yet.
-
Iraola's system took a while to get going at Bournemouth as it is very physically demanding. Lost his first 9 games.
Those Spurs players don't exactly seem the most gritty hard working types either.
Not sure that's the easy fix so many think it will be.
Not that Levy will fork out the money to get him anyway. Nor will Iraola want to jump into a relegation scrap
-
Never forget the role Levy played in Mike Ashley buying Newcastle.
Them getting relegated would be karma coming well and truly full circle.
Here's hoping!

That Disasi tweet says he's agreed personal terms with Villa and the clubs are working to find an agreement.
Sounds like a permanent transfer.
