  1. Slow start for the kid and had to wait for his opportunity, but my word is he starting to show his stuff.

Yet another great signing. 19 years old for goodness sake. Laughable.

Tbf to him. His mistakes this year have been mostly brain farts. The type he had at Spurs and earlier. That bozo side has come back in big style. I don’t think it’s a decline in terms of defensive lapses. More a return to his level.

    Yeah, this is true.

Unfortunately, I think he is also less confident in his physical abilities too, and can't make up for some of these errors, which further compounds things.

I don't understand why some of you get so rattled when it's pointed out that he might be under some pressure right now and heading into the next season. He's not your dad you know? He's had a tough and difficult season having to deal with so many injuries and the Tonali situation and has done reasonably well all things considered.

There's been some amazing games and there's been some abysmal ones. It is what it is. The business is absolutely ruthless. Just look at other clubs in the country.

I'm certain if we can keep injuries at bay and shift some of the deadwood in the squad, he will have a truly excellent season again. Time will tell.

There is no intelligent reasoning behind claims he is under pressure. It's the same silly reaction after every loss, because certain people are sure they know exactly who should be playing, what formation should be played and when subs should be made.

This manager has been punching above his weight since he got here and continues to do so with some diabolical players still having to be utilized. Mostly because he is getting more than expected out of these players, whilst having supplemented them with excellent signings of his own.

I'm sure the same owners that have publicly stated we are ahead of schedule, and who have seen players already at the club and players signed, continue to increase in value, can't wait to get rid.

Read my post below, it you don't think not getting European football has repercussions on the overall plan and getting the most out of FFP, then you're just clueless. He will be given next season and rightly so, but another finishing position like this season then I've no doubt he won't be in the job next summers

    Quit rambling man.

  5. Should have taken the Bayern money.

Think his age is catching up with him. Has looked dodgy defensively all season.

Can't see him getting any better from here. Not as a 34 year old full back in the Premier League.

Has the most assists per 90 minutes in the league to be fair to him (and is in the top percentile across the big 5 leagues in the past year). Don't think he belongs in this group.

I don't care really, he is terrible in general play and it causes too many problems over the course of the game.

We don't have the luxury of just carrying him, until he is in position to put in a first time cross for an assist.

Neither do you, but PIF certainly do

You're the one running off at the mouth about him being under pressure when you have no knowledge, say or power regarding his situation.

You're not a part of PIF man, so just pipe down.

Frustrating thing is it’s quite clear and easy how we can improve, but FFP isn’t going to allow us.

Just getting rid of Almiron, Longstaff, Murphy and Dubravka will do for me. Either by sale or pushing them further down the pecking order.

Would have more faith in Minteh causing problems than Almiron and Murphy, and would gladly push Anderson and Miley ahead of Longstaff going forward now.

Dubravka shouldn't have even been allowed back after crying off to Man Utd the soft twat.

Like it or not, he's under massive pressure next season.

You don't have any say in his position going forward, thankfully.

Harsh to say, but Trippier has repeatedly sabotaged Newcastle this season

I wanted the Bayern money at the time, and thought Tino and Krafth could see us through the rest of the way. The slight worry being whether Tino and Krafth would stay fit.

Ironically, Trippier ended up injured most of the time anyway, and has been horrendous defensively when he's played.

Don't trust him as a starter going forward at all.

Really annoyed me today as well that he took Gordon off set pieces, as his were nowhere near as threatening.
