Who Has Been The Greater Manc Defender: Vidic or Ferdinand?
Ronaldo replied to The College Dropout's topic in Football
There's quite a bit of footage that makes Jamie Carragher look great though. Believe me ,Ron, McGrath was the finest central defender I've seen. Pace to burn, great in the air and read the game outstandingly too. Hansen and Lawrenson were also outstanding but lacked McGrath's physical presence. Yeah, my dad says exactly the same. No reason to doubt him or you. -
Hope England get absolutely annihilated.

You're a year older than me, Tooj. How the f*** can you be in any position to nominate Paul McGrath? -

Duff was somewhere between average and crap during his time with us. He's near the top of the list.

I dunno, he wasn't bad. Especially in the 06/07 season, where him, Saylor and the two keepers were the only ones to come out with any credit. Martins, Milner and Sibierski all had a good season tbf. Not sure which 2 keepers he's referring to either. Krul played once and Harper and Srnicek looked crap. Taylor had a poor season too.

Can't we introduce another part of the forum that goes underneath football and chat for this lot? I'll happily donate.

Only Chris Hughton could engineer an away win for Stoke.

Joe Cole is finished and shouldn't be anywhere near.

Of course they do and on that note, well done to Simpson for forcing the first goal and also some very good balls into the Everton box, as well as defending down our left side at one point. And I acknowledged that yesterday. It's still a big dificiency in Simpson's game that will preclude him from the next level. Neither full-back is good enough if we want to finish in the top 6, in my view.

He was better at rightback yesterday than Ryan Taylor was at leftback. Ryan Taylor scored a very good goal and deserves praise for that but it doesn't make him a better defender. A full-back's responsibilities go further than defensive work.

Being part of a defence that has the best defensive record in England, a defence that contains 3 english men, cant see why he doesn't deserve it like. Because there are half a dozen English players who can play in his position that are far better. isn't it for friendlies, a well done and a chance to have a closer look at fringe players, jesus wept, it's not like it's a play off. He isn't a 'fringe' international player, though. He's played well the last 3 games but he just isn't at that level.

Woodgate was never quite as good on the ball as Colo. I think Colo is much better going forward.

We have one in the squad right now. Plays in the same position too. Smith can, on occasion, pass a football in the general area of a teammate. Amdy Faye could run, Smith can't.
-
No. And you'd have to be an idiot to even ask that question when there's a prominent player who cost £50m playing far worse than Andy Carroll.

Martins had a bad last 2 months with NUFC. Prior to that everyone thought of him as a good player. Relegation amplified poor performances tenfold and turned average individual displays into poor ones. Kluivert was never going to hit the ground running here for a variety of reasons.

Just looked at his Wikipedia.

Luque looked like a god before we signed him. I was convinced him and Owen would do well up front together,
