Still a good player, just nowhere near what he was, ie the best midfielder ever to grace the PL.

Julio Cesar must have signed for Bayern. Brilliant finish, like.

Lovenkrands won't get a kick against Stoke.

The same goes for Enrique. Does it f***, man. It doesn't even apply to Barton! Of course it does. Barton's played what, 4 games since Carroll's departure? Fulham - was poor Arsenal - was terrific Blackburn - played well Birmingham - was terrific Conclusion = you're both daft.

Mourinho had his choice of literally any player in the world to built his defence around. He chose John Terry, and endorsed that decision by making him captain a short time after getting the Chelsea job. Not sure why you're bringing Carvalho into it.
-
He certainly is. But he's not the answer, otherwise we should be knocking on Shearer's door tomorrow morning. Did Shearer retire 6 months ago? I saw Lehman a few times last season, he's still got a bit in the tank.

I thought 'The Gremlins' were a thing of the past? It would appear not....

Bunch of dickheads. -
Under Mourinho, yes. Mourinho left 3 1/2 years ago. They broke the PL record for goals last year. They've played plenty of expansive football since Mou's departure. They're not Mancini's City and never have been.

God almighty.

Chelsea have been for the most part the best team in arguably the world's best league for the past 6 years, like, so it's hardly a disgrace if one or two have been better. I disagree with Carvalho being better, although Cole stands up well against him. Then again, how many people truly regarded Ashley Cole to be world class in 2005? Not me, but he wasn't far off. Rio Ferdinand, Sandro Nesta, perhaps even Puyol. I can't think of too many being better than Terry, but let's not forget that Mourinho (who you regard so highly) made Terry captain the week he got the job at Chelsea, and basically built his team around him and Lampard. Look at Chelsea this season, best defensive record in the PL even though Terry has had about 5 different partners back there. Same last season.

Harper was a very good kicker of the ball when he first emerged under Gullit. I can only think that Bobby religiously had the keepers thowing the ball to full-backs in training, because when he finally got that stint in 2006 his kicking had massively deteriorated.

Europe: would you take, er, 5th place right now?

All the wankers who think a scarf pinned to the ceiling makes them a football fan. It's usually a Liverpool scarf, hence the coverage. -
Terry's been magnificent for club (and generally country) for almost a decade. He's an arsehole, but one hell of a defender and one hell of a captain. Bet you couldn't even begin to name 10 genuinely better CBs over the last 6 years.
-
no surprise his biggest critic also happens to be some mackem c*** (markeyboy) I have a sneaking feeling that most football fans just rate all average keepers as "good shot stopper, but poor command of area" because they don't have the ability to identify real strengths and weaknesses. In all seriousness, he's what, 22? Keepers of that age don't command their area well as a general rule. They may shout and carry on like Joe Hart, but you can't really expect them to intelligently and assertively instruct those in front of them when they're a good 10 years of their peak.

All Wales need to do is lob one over his head. He has been stable but prone to moments of panicks and misjudgements which unsurprisingly for a defender usually costs goals. How anyone can describe him as "one of the best defeders in the last 6 years is beyond me". He is not even the best defender in Chelsea in the last 6 years, Both Carvalho and Cole was & is better than him and as for now, it's possible that Luiz will be Chelsea's backbone. What a load of guff.
-
ok then league 1, you still didn't answer the question though. He's a more composed and dominant keeper than Krul.
-
Don't recall him ever playing in The Championship.

You must drink to excess before heading to Kingston Park, like.

More than you, clearly.

Not to mention the fact he was here 2 weeks ago, and over the Xmas period.

Villa has been very poor lately.
