How can you have Dawson in a worst of XI? Bramble hasn't been dreadful either! Dave was hoping that i'd nibble.

  3. Nah. I've considered him to be a good defender for a while, though. Easily good enough to be 3rd/4th choice CB, or better.

    Chris Hughton

I've come to love him, as a person.

    Alan Pardew

He's seen Gosling in training for the last few weeks. He's far better equipped to make that decision than we are to speculate about it.

    Alan Pardew

He won't be making those decisions, the door banging aside.

The results have been far better than OK, man. They've been good to very good.

    Sol Campbell

Wish this thread would fuck off.
  9. I can pick more than two. They looked mostly good, but there's room for improvement. Taylor and Coloccini should be given a chance, and will be. Because if they can click, we'll be sorted.
  10. I quite agree. But remember, we've conceded 9 goals in the last 3 games in which Coloccini and Williamson have been paired from the start. Not saying that Taylor is ideal, either. But he's got a lot more going for him. And? Even the best defenders in the world would concede goals with Smith and Nolan as the partnership infront of them. It says nothing about either defender. Their performances against Stevenage and Bolton say a fair bit more than nothing. Not nearly as much had Tiote been there, but still.
  11. We don't really know how Taylor and Coloccini will operate together at this level. Coloccini is almost a different player to the one we saw in 08-09. Hopefully Taylor is better, too. One thing's for sure, Mike Williamson did Ok yesterday, but he isn't the answer.

The way we approached that game in comparison with West Brom away speaks volumes. We cowered like it was Barcelona in one, and came out determined to take the initiative in the other.

  14. Taylor clearly has the better attributes. I'm not a big fan of his, but he's far more capable than Williamson, who'll always have big limitations.
  15. He isn't down Villa tbf, the tweet of that was posted when they played them the other week. Right again.
  16. Taylor's also a more capable defender.

Don't think we'd have beaten Liverpool or Wigan with Hughton, personally. Just an opinion.

The only answer is 'Good.' For those who think 'OK' - it's probably worth mentioning that we've got 10 out of our 29 points with him as manager. No doubt the same folk thought Hughton was doing a marvellous job in this division.

Krul out on loan next season.
  20. Coloccini and Enrique were two of our better peformers during 08-09, they were just easier targets for the media than the likes of Butt and Owen. Both of whom slipped into abysmal form in the latter half of the season.
  21. The criticism Coloccini got in the summer of '09 and during the first few weeks in The Championship was laughable, frankly. You had several folk wanting Kadar there instead of him, and one bright spark even wanted him on the bench behind Khizanishvili. He certainly got an absolute dog's abuse during and after the game with WBA.
  22. Still doesn't justify buying crap ffs. I never implied that it did. It's just naive to think that Bothroyd and SWP wouldn't improve us, because they would, albeit slightly.
  23. Actually, loads of people (myself included) defended Enrique.
