I really don't mind when he's on the pitch. A winger is ultimately judged on his assists and goals. He offers us neither. So does that mean we should play Nicky Butt in his place? Both of then don't score or create goals therefore ultimately they both offer the same to the team, yes? Yep. Passing put Kadar and Simpson in particular under pressure they didn't need. Total refusal to take responsiblity at times. As Ronaldo (I think?) said after one of our last games, Nolan looks every inch the captain. Ronaldo did indeed say that. Pertaining to his attitude and willingness to take responsiblity on the pitch.

This is something that we've missed badly in the last few games. He has a very good eye for the right pass.

Why say that after he's had a decent game? He battled well but was pretty poor imo.

Nolan is such a useless footballer, he reminds me of Inzaghi with his ability to be in the right place though.

This is one of the areas where Shearer would be better than Hughton tbh. Carroll needs an arm around his shoulder and to be taught how to use his physical attributes to best effect in addition to working on movement around the penalty area. Did very well tonight though.

Kadar did well, after the first 10 minutes he stuck the basics and looked assured, fair play to him. He's yet to win everybody over but having Coloccini is fantastic in that 1 goal for us will likely win it. We didn't help ourself by camping in our own half most of the time.

I wish we'd dropped Harper after WBA, Krul is clearly the better keeper.
