  1. best player last night after Enrique
  2. I said for England. For Man United he has been good. Can you name me 5 better centre backs right now? Cannavaro is too old, Nesta the same. my original point was that he's the best defender in the world. You're making my case for me here I still believe there are better. I said yes he's one of the top 5 but not the best. who's better? Vidic, Puyol, Chilleni to name three. I dont believe for one second that a guy who knows his football, like you clearly do would have Puyol or Chiellini in your side ahead of Ferdinand
  3. Ronaldo

    Jonas Gutierrez

the partnership with Enrique looks pretty promising tbh. Both very quick and defensively solid, Souness would be whacking one off if he were still here
  4. Ronaldo

    Berbatov

Berbatov for me is an excellent player with his back to goal, he's also excellent playing off a main striker, feeding off scraps and turning them into genuine opportunities at Man U, these talents aren't really utilised like they were at Spurs. He'll score more goals though, simply because of the quality around him

  7. Bit harsh on Emre. He at least had some ability... could dribble, pick a pass and score the odd goal. Just was never fit... Smith can't do any of these things. Stupidly harsh on Emre, he was a real talent, could have been great if it wasn't for his injuries. indeed, if he stayed fit and was allowed to play his natural game here he'd be a geordie legend by now
  8. he's never shone yet you call him "one of the top 5 in the world easily" hmmm
  9. Oh no no no. A good defender, one of the top 5 in the world easily. But as is often the case with players that spend a long time around Mr Ferguson and the Theatre of Prawn Sandwiches and Fans born "Just outside Manchester" he has become a real bell-end on the pitch. For someone who gave so much towards the Anti-Bullying cause, he doesn't half give Ref's s***, especially when it doesn't involve him, there's being a captain, and there's talking to a ref like he is a 5 year old is unacceptable. Irrespective of how those around you act. To be honest, he is one of this generation of players. Ashley Cole, Ferdinand, Terry etc, who will happily play brilliantly at home Stoke, but when it comes to big stages or for their country are never to be found. He's a defender, it's a credit to him that he rarely gets noticed. He's never let England down, ever
  10. Yep. Pathetic making him a scapegoat when he was here. A big case of you don't know what you've got til it's gone. I beg to differ. I fail to see what he really offers when compared to Guthrie. completely different players for one
  11. :celb: great news, providing Guthrie is back soon

    Berbatov

he isn't worth that like, but tbh I really dont think Man U's style of play suits him. Still a great player though
  13. seems a right c*** does Carroll. Most of us living in newcastle are have surely heard the stories about him and his cousin You live in Teeside though?!?!? AGAIN KARL TAKE THAT AS LIGHT HEARTED BANTER NO NEED FOR ROID RAGE ABUSE. what are you like
  14. best defender in the world by some distance
  15. seems a right cunt does Carroll. Most of us living in newcastle are have surely heard the stories about him and his cousin
  16. those strikes with the exception of 1 or 2 have a lot more to their game than goals though. All i'm saying is that he shouldn't automatically get his shirt back A minute ago you said he shouldn't be anywhere near the team given the situation we're in... with alternatives, absolutely. But beyond Lovenkrands and the unlikely occurence of Viduka getting fit there are none. He's here till the end of the season, which is the best for all involved
  17. those strikes with the exception of 1 or 2 have a lot more to their game than goals though. All i'm saying is that he shouldn't automatically get his shirt back
  18. he relies on the players around him, always will. Owen might do ok for Man City but at nufc where the creativity is limited at best he'll probably continue his 1 in 8 form. What do people see in Owen? He's a cunt who couldn't care less about nufc, his sheer presence as captain will most likely bring team morale down, and he certainly demostrates no leadership capabilties. His game is all about goals and nothing more and right now I don't trust him to score them. Lovenkrands at least will work hard and scare teams with his pace. Anyone can score penalties, if Shola scored 8 goals all season all from the spot you wouldn't say he has a 1 in 4 record now would you?
  19. wiki has his apperance at 62, ah who cares, you take penalties away and he's got 20 for us in the league anyway. We cant be relying on Michael Owen man, he's finished as a top player and the last footballer in the world you want in your team if you're scrapping for results
  20. Wahoo, commitment over ability. Always works that. Commitment as opposed to no comitment whatsoever generally does work. And Owen's hardly bursting with ability is he I beg to differ. You're exaggerating things massively out of proportion man. You can question his commitment, sure - and i have done in the past. But he's our top scorer, so it can't be that bad. Certainly not "no commitment whatsoever". You can question his ability too, but he's got a 1 in 2 record in the Premier League for us, so again, it can't be that bad. If he's fit, he needs to be in the team imo. If he's sharp and on a run of form he's absolutely vital if we stay up. I like Lovenkrands, he works hard and offers an outlet of pace as others have said, but having an instinctive goal-poacher in your side wins you football matches. I'd be tempted to put him on the left and Jonas on the right simple to accommodate a pacy quartet upfront... but then Jonas is far better on the left hand side. It'd be harsh dropping the lad, but one way or another, Owen's the captain and he's going to be in the side. Rightfully, imo. 1 in 2 record in the premier league? It's closer to 1 in 3 isn't it? correct me if i'm wrong Owen wont make an impact after coming back from injury, as HTT says it'll take him 5 games just to catch up to the pace
