Solano would have made things worse last night anyone who thinks we don't need Duff asap needs a talking to
-
ok apologies if you didn't quite get it, maybe i should have built an image of Cacapa becoming a legend with lego bricks
-
never said he'd become a legend, i said he WOULD become a legend what you on about Beardsley for? I named my favourite all-time player and my favourite current player
-
Pedro Cacapa glad to see so many people on the same wavelength as me regarding Cacapa, remember saying 4 weeks ago he'd become a legend and getting a barrage of criticism.

rather good defenders than local ones tbh

ridiculous says it all, to be a good defender you have to be running around like Steven Taylor on ecstacy or flying in with challanges left, right and centre Ferdinand doesn't have to do this because he's one step ahead of the attacker, Ferguson's no mug, there's a reason he paid £30m for him aye and shevchenko was bought for that price... kind of negates the whole "hes expensive therefore he's good" arguement not an argument that I used really, difference being, Ferdinand has been the first name on Fergie's teamsheet for 3 years now Sorry that's just bollocks, there's a couple of players that Fergie would put ahead of Ferdinand. Even in centre back, if you ask most Man Utd fans, they'd prefer Vidic ahead of Ferdinand. Ferdinand is good but is also liable to some serious concentration issues. Hard to compare him with Terry. Terry does not have the continental class of Ferdinand in terms of bringing the ball out of defence, but that also makes him more reliable, i.e. no fannying about, just get the ball and clear the ball into midfield. how's it bollocks, Ferdinand has always been in the team at CB (when fit) for over 3 years. Vidic was bought to be the perfect partner for him and his place in the team has never been under threat. You can't even say that for Rooney

I hope that one day i'll tell you how wrong I was and how right you were, but for now I can't see it

the next John Terry? don't make me laugh, at 21 Terry was accomplished in the air, the tackle, had composure, game reading etc Taylor spends 90% of the game chasing the ball or the man he failed to pick up when he should have. He's very, very average and I hope Rozenhal and Cacapa ensure he's nowher near our starting Xl this season
-
Taylor once again confusing his talent with his ego still, 9k is a disgrace
-
have said for a while I didn't think Given was Allardyce's sort of keeper. This time next season I think we'll have a new no.1
-
I don't think people realise just how much we need Emre in the team. Really don't think I can stand another Butt, Geremi, Smith midfield
-
perhaps you should read both his posts and spot the difference
-
two poacher's goals and a penalty and Sibierksi is better than Viduka madness
-
well no, you said "pretty good LAST SEASON" was last season the future? another foreign genius to add to this forum's collection
-
pretty GOOD??? serious or what? the guy didn't look anything like a defender
-
glad everyone seems to be acknowledging the fact that Cacapa should play alongside Rozenhal
-
christ on a bike, get back from holiday and find out we've lost Carr, Ramage and Huntington and now have Faye and Beye, amazing! Huntington didn't ever look like a decent defender, his shocking lack of pace would have always been taken advantage of and it's great Sam has looked beyond the 'only young' notion
-
that's more like it The Zog has shown more ability than Duff, in fairness. if you're using last season to judge Duff, use it for N'zogbia, both looked poor, one compounding the poor performances with an awful attitude I rate N'zogbia, but Duff has a lot more vindication in terms of ability

What did Andy Gray actually say? the guy doesn't half talk some s**** these days, always looking for the easy targets, 2 years ago it was Drogba not anymore is it Andy? you scottish c***
-
Harper played well but i'm just not compleltely comfortable with him in goal, few bad kicks, one spill

Apart from his one comedy moment, can you give any examples to back that up? He was beaten in the air once or twice by Carew, but stood his ground. He was leading the defence yesterday, his positioning was excellent and he was playing it out along the ground, which is more than can be said for Rozehnal who was part of the problem with his long balls costing us possession and putting people under pressure. I thought Rozehnal "got away with it" a few times where he let players outmuscle him or get goal side of him, and he broke ranks once or twice as he got drawn towards the ball. I don't want to be too critical of him because he does have qualities, he's certainly quick, tall, seems to have a decent enough reading of the game and he's a calm head at the back, but as Sam alluded to before the Bolton game he can't afford to be doing these things in the Premiership because once managers are aware of his weaknesses they will look to expose him. Hopefully in time he'll get to grips with what the Premiership is all about, I think he has what it takes. Getting back to Taylor, I thought he was very solid yesterday and certainly didn't look like a 21 year old in the heart of our defence. Very professional performance, barring his one 'moment'. Look im sick of people bringing taylors age into it. Ignore his age as Micah Richards is a much better player than him even though hes 2 years younger. Things wrong with Taylor are: 1) Not quick enough- As shown when he got done all over by DJ Cambpell, (conference player). 2) Hes a cheat- Handballs then faking injury. No need for it. 3) He gives stupid fouls away in dangerous areas- E.g. away to arsenal. henry running into the corner so taylor fouls him and they score from the resulting freekick. 4) He gave the ball away on numberous occasions- As shown yesterday. 5) Can be dodgy- As shown yesterday when he fell over and gave the ball away at the back. If Taylor wasnt from Newcastle he wouldnt get bummed by the people that currently do on here. IMO he will be like players like Dawson, jenas, etc. where people make a big deal about them being the next up and coming england international and he will just turn out to be rubbish as dawson is and never good enough for england. I also think for a supposedly agressive 'all action' CB he lacks the mandatory strength

Ameobi still looked better than Viduka when he came on
