yeah, we have a tendancy to forget that while Zamora is a hardly a great player, our squad no longer has a Ferdinand, a Cole, a Beardsley or a Shearer 97-02 in it. the fact is, Shola Ameobi is an automatic starter for our club, sad but true and while I think Zamora is average, he's an improvement on what we have.

The guy doesn't deserve defending to be honest, but............. what i will say is that he's the type of footballer that needs to be used in a very certain way and if we had played to his strengths (for a sustained period) I would agree entirely that he's a waste of space.
