Keep an eye on Rabiot. He’ll be talking to a number of clubs including us over the next few weeks. Another free although an expensive one.

His salary is way too high - rather get a younger CM

Ideally don’t want Barkley but he is a game changer if we play him instead of one of the others if one of Bruno/Tonali/Joelinton can’t play.

Which is why I suggested him - 2 year deal

    I personally want Caqueret - he’ll cost circa 25m

But if money is tight then if you are to keep the status quo in midfield why not just add Barkley as your Ritchie replacement

I am really worried about this transfer window - as it's huge.  I just sense am going to be disappointed as there are so many positions that need addressing and the club can't address them all.

I’d take Tosin - Kelly - Barkley (add Minteh) all on free transfers, gives us some flexibility in my view. Then you can drill down to GK - RW - CF as the priority positions - if we could squeeze in a young CB then great

I have no confidence at all there’s going to be a ruthless revamp this summer.

I’m not sure what a massive revamp is tbh

Have a load of deadwood (Dummett, Hayden, Ritchie etc that’s needs removing)

Minteh will have pre season with us

Likely Tosin and Kelly are free transfers

Highly likely Wilson - Miggy - Dubravka are off and need to be replaced

We may or may not cash in on Longstaff

This is the main thing for me.

I want to see what he can do with a more talented and well rounded squad before any talk of making a change.

He's shown a lot making use of some very ordinary players so far.

It's such a shame this FFP nonsense means we have to build so slowly.

Given that we are 2.5 years into a 5 year plan - I think we are probably par in terms of where we need to be - hopefully have a complete clear out of the deadwood in the summer (Dummett, Ritchie etc)

I think we have to bear in mind, within this process we started with a much lower base than the current group within the top 8 - to achieve safety from being rock bottom, top 4 finish, joint best defence, a final, 2 QFs, massive goal returns and maybe the Conference is pretty decent if you ask me

Our midfield has absolutely not proven to be more than capable.

The story of the season has been Bruno having to carry the whole unit, while Gordon and Isak have had standout performances higher up the pitch to win us games.

Yep totally agree with this - the whole right side needs fixing in my view and that should in theory be our summer priority - whether it’s attainable or not I don’t know but a RCM, RW and CF (with Minteh) should be our business with the likes of Miggy and Wilson departing with one of Longstaff and Murphy (if not both at risk) - there’s no other way forward

Players, particularly the ones that aren't as good, absolutely tend to play with much more confidence at home, yes!

Look I am not saying get rid of Howe and there’s reasons for why we haven’t been as strong this season, of course there is.

My stance has always been let’s learn from this season regardless - EH has effectively been on a seasons secondment where everything has been thrown at him  - search deep into what hasn’t worked, what we need to improve on - box clever in the market with clever signings (Tosin/Kelly)

If it is to be the Europa Conference then I am more than happy with it - it’s a chance to win something

It's unacceptable in your view because of your arrogance.

You think we have a right to get a result in these games just because we came 4th last season.

This isn't a video game. You can keep dismissing the injury situation all you want, but at the end of the day, most of this season we've ended up playing Bruno in midfield (the most impactful part of the pitch) with some combination from Longstaff, Anderson and Miley.

And you really think this is no big deal and 'tactics' can simply sort this out, so we can go to these away games and just beat these teams, because it's just that easy, and everyone else is doing it.

It's this kind of thinking that means I cannot take you guys that 'keep it real' seriously.

What’s wrong with saying 11 defeats in 18 is a poor return? It’s a fact - got nothing to do with us finishing 4th - in those 11 defeats, which matches can we say we were unlucky not to get anything?

And yet at home we look a totally different team - EH has had the same tools home and away or is it just away from home where we suffer more with injuries?

  9. It’s massively important we finish 7th now and hope Man Ciry can do us a favour so we have some form of football.

Then in the summer regroup and take a collective view of where we are and what we need to challenge for at least the top 6 next season

We have lost 11 out of 18 away games - that’s unacceptable in my view - yes you can point at injuries, but tactically we’ve been ordinary and at times been a soft touch

Perfect position, in lots of space, great angle to hit it low and across goal on his strong foot. And he just whacks it straight at Onana.

This is the one thing he needs to be able to do, as he typically strikes the ball pretty well. If he can't manage it then he has to be pushed way back in the midfield reckoning.

The falling over continues and the amazingly poor passes in great positions.

It's just too much man. Please no more.

Said earlier in the week - Maxence Caqueret

Kone and Caqueret are the profiles I like the most, press proof, comfortable getting the ball off the defenders with good distribution.

I wish we were linked with Merino.

Not sure why Kone hasn't been snapped up yet though, he in particular looks ideal.

I think Caqueret is a great shout and not someone who I think would command a massive fee given Lyons financial situation  - £25m possibly?

    1 forward

    1 RW

    1 CM

    1 GK

and hopefully 2 frees will be our business this summer.

What profile of CM do most people think we need?

    CMs we been linked with

    Y Fofana

    M Caqueret

    K Zenon

    M Kone

    Ederson

(Archie Gray - if Leeds don’t go up)
