    He's also massively underrated imo.

10 goal contributions - excellent going that - think that came from 22 apps and 14 starts

Suffice to say I would be very much up for us recruiting an exciting Argentinian winger called Gonzalez to the squad.

Seems similar to Kily Gonzalez in style albeit I think Kily played on the left which was the norm back in the day

I think Chalobah would be an incredibly smart move from the club if we can get him for a good price. Underrated player.

Agree - very useful cover - a high caliber CB signing is still a must though

Chalobah left out of Chelsea US squad. Got to be a mover there if available for knock off price?

As a RB/CB cover option I’d defo take him, would be a smart move - this on the basis that we sign someone like Thiaw as our main CB

Also needs to be reassured he’d be replaced same window of departure. If that’s not going to be the case you can see why EH would fight to keep him as it risks EH’s job not PM’s.

I agree on the reassurance side to a point - I mean they will all sit down and assess the squad top to bottom - where they see it in Aug - Jan - summer 25, but my view is Eddie has to accept players coming and going, it’s how projects work - in the hierarchy Mitchell is above him, Mitchell isn’t the 2nd coming of Dennis Wise and I am wholly confident the two will gel - EH just has to accept that modern football especially in the prem - I for one am thrilled with all these appointments as I see it only helping Eddie

I'd love to find out who Eddie would like to move on, other than the players who have been ostracised.

This isn't meant to be negative towards Eddie, but he seems to be against selling anyone if you believe his interviews (Notably Wilson and Miggy).

I don’t know if I can trust anything Eddie says - if Wilson accepts he’s 3rd choice there may be an argument to keep him but then on the flip side there’s a possibility to cash in on him

In any case I think Mitchell should have the power to intervene - that’s the job of a sporting director and that’s how the structure operates elsewhere - the coach is hired based on a clubs philosophy - if results don’t follow, he’s replaced - For me Howe is an excellent coach, include him in conversations in terms of recruits but he also has to recognise when a players time is up

He mentions psr and 2 lots of losses of 70m which is 140m so 35m over I guess the 3rd year was a smaller loss as we ended up selling 2 players rather than 1?

Hopefully someone on here can help explain - I have no idea with PSR

I haven't seen Kubo in a full match although I've tracked his progress over the years.. He has that typical left-footed footballing genius.. dribbling agility, passing vision, crossing/shooting technique..

Gnonto, on the other hand, seems to me more of an athletic striker but he's too small for that role.. from what I've seen he lacks the footballing brain to ever be a top creative player from the wing..

Agree - I just feel the Kubo type is better for us - we have the more direct players in Gordon and Barnes - just want something a bit different on that side

Apropos of this, Wilfried Gnonto and Takefusa Kubo's stats for the 23/24 season are astonishingly similar (albeit in different leagues). Kubo has 7 goals and 5 assists across 2,935 minutes played and Gnonto 9 goals and 3 assists across 2,192. Kubo is a centimetre taller than Gnonto [emoji38] but older by a couple of years.

Just a bit of stats wankery cos I'm so bored in this rumour drought. But Gnonto has Premier League experience and a potentially high ceiling. Not a bad move if the price is right.

PL experience counts for nothing - Botman, Bruno, Isak to name just 3

Kubo is the better player and in my view is best suited to our team

I just see him as a Livramento/Hall type signing. We still need to be thinking of the future and not being scared off by FFP just because of what happened last month. 20 year old and already 60 games in the top two divisions and 10 caps for Italy seems a good profile that we can help fulfil his potential.

If we have the money I’d rather sign someone like a Kubo who is the right age profile and a far superior player

He's only 20, though? I don't think Gordon playing both wings and Barnes and Gnonto splitting game time, with Murphy in reserve is a bad pool.

We have to look at someone at a higher level than Gnomto - seen enough of him to suggest he isn’t the one

    these brazilians man.

Didn’t even know we had a Spanish coach

  13. These crowd issues have apparently been ongoing throughout the tournament - concerns have been raised even by the Argies regarding lack of security for families

Also doesn't make sense to me.

Not a RW. Right footed. Already in the PL. 3 years left on the contract. Almost at peak value.

I don't understand these links to him and Bowen, can only assume it's largely made up/based on light interest.

I’d happily take Soule and Mbuemo tbh

Been linked with Newcastle a fair bit going back a few years now, and so maybe he's one that is in the database.

If Trippier leaves maybe he's an option we're considering.

The fact he can play both sides means he ticks the box for me
