I hope you're right. For FFP and improving the squad it's essential. I just don't see it with how Howe talks about him.
I hope he’s sold - offers nothing as far as I’m concerned - plus a homegrown player sold will boost FFPHowe is a buffoon if he decides to keep him

But it's so important to have local stalwarts here to gee the lads up...
Better off playing Alex Murphy
Whats the point of Dummett

Bit of a cockup by him though that one, he let Bowen get away from him first.
Seeing how much space he made up, if he ran the same time as Bowen then he would have actually got there.
Where were our covering players in the centre? Tino was on the right with Kudos - who was the player that initially lost the challenge? -

Maybe not my absolute top choices but I wouldn’t be complaining, good signings. I’m not even sure what my choices would be like. Scalvini sounds good from what I’ve read but I haven’t seen that much of him tbh. Think I’d like more technical ability than what Fofana has. MGW is good but I wonder if we could find better value for money from abroad.
I think Fofana is technically excellent from what I have seen of him - really good passer of the ball, complemented by his physical stature he offers - I can see us going for him if Paul Mitchell comesMGW - I think he’s excellent, tactically so flexible in terms of positional play - as an all round winger there’s the likes of Kubo, Nico Williams, Cherki, Zhegrova
Kubo for me, if the deal was right then MGW

Personally I think our 1st priority should be a top quality CB and CM and RW in no particular order. Strengthen the 1st eleven to begin with. On top of that we should be looking at getting in a freebie like Tosin and a striker to replace Wilson that is more reliable. Some would say that we have enough in midfield. Yes we have the numbers but not the quality and technical ability, never mind in depth as we use 3 midfielders. Not sure who I’d be looking to move on but the lack of quality there needs to be fixed. I know it sounds obvious, but a quality CM would help us to control games much better and often that’s where games are won. We have an ice cold striker (hot) in Isak and if we can sort out our defending and become solid again then it’s looking very good. Defensively I think we can improve massively with just some pace in one of the CB and midfield. If we buy well a CB doesn’t have to cost a fortune as the unit is more important than the individual. Think there are cheaper options out there than Cb’s with massive reputations that cost more than they are worth because of the hype around them. Finding a quality striker even close to Isak is much much harder and expensive and not always a guaranteed buy even when super expensive. Whatever players we go for they have to have amazing technical ability. Especially in midfield and attack. Get this right and it should be looking very very good going forward. Balance is key. I would like a 1st class GK but I reckon that will have to wait. I don’t want players like Onana who will only improve us out of possession. Feels like a sideway step and a waste of money.
If I offered you Scalvini, Y Fofana and Gibbs White, partly funded by sales of Longstaff, Miggy and Wilson, would you take it? -
I just can’t watch a match when Drury is on comms - even worse when he’s partnered by either Neville or Carragher

Howe said in the week he wasn’t carrying an injury any more.
he’s just shite unfortunately.
He’s a brilliant professional - can never doubt that, but the standards and expectations have risen and he’s struggled to keep up - a fresh start for him away from NUFC is required -

So much physically stronger than Sean and infinitely better technically
Someone who I rate very highly - so composed on the ball too -

Said it earlier in the thread, he's a bit of a one trick pony and can look poor when he's not on form in front of goal, but he wins you games when he's on it. Lethal.
He’s defo more than a finisher - when fully fit you will see the other aspects to his game -
Please start him
So technically sound and a physical beast

Dubravka’s agent has said he wants to leave in the summer.
Regardless of whether he stuck around or not, Pope’s injury has elevated backup GK to a must-fill position. It’s not inconceivable he suffers another dislocated shoulder next year and that’s the season completely fucked again.
Fair point - I would however like to see an Academy keeper promoted to 3rd choice at the very least
I would be massively disappointed if we didn’t see additions to CB - CM - RW - CF

Totally agree with those 4 being sold - imo none have a future hereYou would assume the likes of Dummett, Hendrick, Lewis, Hayden and Fraser will be off the books too - Gillespie and Karius too - not sure on Dubs - let’s assume he stays
I reckon we will sign L Kelly, most likely give Minteh 1 more season
CB - CM - RW - CF are the priorities - surely the sales of Longstaff - Miggy -,Targett and Wilson will cover at least 2 of the signings?

Uefa don’t do draconian punishments for FFP breaches. PSG who are without a doubt the most ridiculous club in the world always get away with fines.
As if you would ever see the President of UEFA sat next to the President of PSG at a CL match - next thing you’ll be saying is that the PSG President sits on one of UEFAs boards -

Murillo has some heavy hitting admirers. Lots of Champions League clubs now hovering.
Hence the need to act - he really is quite impressive - physical and quick, plus good on the ball -
Plus Scalvini can give you an option as 6
I’m still all in on Ederson though as the Longstaff replacement
-
For me we need 2CBs regardless of L Kelly who I see more of an alternative LB option
Murillo from Notts Forest as left sided option
Maybe someone like Simakan (Leipzig) as the right sided option
My personal preference is Scalvini

The Botman news has to fundamentally change our summer plans unless we already planned to invest in one. Or.... Burn is a CB again?
I’m convinced we would have been in the market for a CB regardless of Botmans injury -

I’d definitely be stepping up any interest in Kelly from Bournemouth now.
I think we were going to buy a CB in the summer anyway (as well as L Kelly)

Would people be bothered if we ever renamed the stadium if the future? Is is a big deal - not from Newcastle so don’t know what the feeling would be - Obviously don’t want an obscure name like KitKat arena - something like Adidas Arena, Allianz Stadium, Aramco Arena etc etc
