Now it’s had a few hours to sink in, I’ve thought about why this bothers me so much. Our club is on an upward trajectory and this won’t be the last final, this is just the start. But what would’ve been really special about this one is how many of the squad were written off under Bruce. Howe has helped some of these lads find levels they probably didn’t even know they had. As the squad evolves and improves some will be phased out due to ability, some due to age. The likes of Burn, Longstaff, Schar, Wilson, Miggy. How many of them will still be in the squad or on the bench when we next make a final? They deserved it man, that’s what stings. They really fucking deserved something to show for how far the team have come over the past 12 months and it feels so unfair that for many of them this was the only chance they might get

Would have to think he'd get a run in the team now. There's an argument to be made with sticking with Wilson in the run-up to the final, playing the team that got us there etc., but Wilson looks shot now and needs a rest as much as anything.

Devastated. All came down to a few small moments of quality or a little luck that went their way. We matched them throughout tbh. Don't feel Karius was at fault for either goal, and actually thought he played pretty well, seemed quite assured and confident if a little rusty - which is really to be expected. First goal was a brilliant header, second was an unlucky deflection. Definitely be happy with him as Pope's backup going forward. Think Pope may have saved one or the other, but that's more that Pope is amazing, not that Karius did anything wrong. Proud of them all, they gave it all they had. Didn't feel like anything dropped our way all game but they didn't give up. Love this team, gutted we haven't lifted a trophy. This would've meant so much more to us than it did to their lot, which hurts even more.
