Seems pretty obvious that Woltemade has struggled to fit into the Isak role and will need some adaption from both the player and the team to make him work as the lone striker longer term. Never something that was going to happen overnight or in half a season. At the same time we've lost our creative outlet in midfield with Bruno's injury, so the solution is to play Woltemade there and make use of his excellent control and passing to fill that gap, and tbf it's worked an absolute treat on the 2 games so far. It's so clearly a tactical decision and one that's looking fruitful. "Hiding" ffs, every day N-O plumbs new lows.
  2. Man this is so great, I love that we're playing in a Champions League knockout game later. This is what it's all about! Just imagine this 4 years ago. I hope this never gets boring.
  3. Also specifically mentioned the stick that Howe has been getting on social media. In my memory he called it outrageous, but that was the gist if not the exact word. I include publicly-available Football forum Newcastle-Online under "social media" there.

Brilliant game from him today. Have to remember he's young and new to the country/league. He's clearly got baaaags of talent.
  5. Tripps with a not so thinly veiled "stick it up your fucking bollocks" to the Howe out nonces there
  6. Can I get a "where all thick" check?
  7. When you consider how we've played, and the genuinely horrendous refereeing, we've massively deserved the win here. 2 good away performances in a row against big sides
  8. Tripps and Bruno pushing him forward there is so class. What monumental signings those two have been. Even Trippier who looked certain to leave a year or two ago just gets it.
  9. I'm not having a pop at you at all Deck solely those having a little whine after the game

    Jacob Ramsey

Absolutely deserved it. He's been getting better and better.
  11. Burn and Tripps both started the first half shakily but settled down nicely. They should never be the fullbacks but given that's basically all we have left they were solid today. People just looking for something to complain about tbh, tonight it simply wasn't an issue.
  12. Sorry but look at those scenes. This squad is still together
  13. Let's put to bed the notion that the players aren't playing for him. Ran through walls for him all night. My. Fucking. Manager.
  14. Excellent battling performance and a massive 3 points. Players scrapped all game. Delighted for Ramsey to get a goal after such a good performance. Little Joe was class. Special mention to Trippier and Burn who despite being the slowest pair of fullbacks in history actually had very solid games (a couple of shaky moments not withstanding)
  15. Great performance, perfect response so far. Another 45 of that please
  16. This is the bit for me that leaves me a little incredulous at the strength of feeling some seem to have against him. It was so recently that he gave us the best day of our NUFC-supporting lives. I've seen several variations of "how much time does he get? When does the credit run out?" As if he's living off successes from years ago - he gets more than 2/3rds of the following season after pulling off the unthinkable, that's for sure.
