  1. Plenty to criticise after that and after the season we've had so far, I'm personally feeling as dejected about the rest of the season as I ever have under Howe, but the (thankfully few) supposed Newcastle fans who are visibly happy that we lost that because they think it proves them right are weird as fuck. Your team lost and you're happy about it, because you think it vindicates you in some way. It's MAGAesque. If validation of you making hating Eddie Howe your personality matters more to you than Newcastle United winning, then what the fuck are we even doing here.
  2. Easier sure, doesn't make it the right call
  3. Sell whoever we have to sell to fund a complete overhaul in the summer, massive rebuild guided by a proper backroom team. Howe is still the man, but this squad is coming to the end.
  4. Be livid if that was against us like
  5. I'm sad if he does want out already given how much we stood by him, would've hoped he'd at least feel he owed as an "extra" season if we don't make the progress our top players expect. Can't hate him though, as long as he gives his all and leaves in a deal that suits the club. If he tries to force our hands like a certain Swedish rodent that'd be a different story, but no indication of that
  6. Should get that added to the forum banner
  7. Never really understood the mindset of opting for a fresh start, and then just doing the same thing all over again. Look forward to having this conversation again in 2027 when Sir Joe Linton has mysteriously stopped posting and Regen#453 is all over the forum.
  8. And yet we're still having to play a man at fullback who should be collecting his pension.
  9. Selection basically forced on him given the injuries we've got. Had to go for it, clearly hasn't worked, but not worth all the piss that will be expelled in here tonight
  10. Starting to think there's a chance we might not be retaining the cup
  11. So that thing about "we have to take our chances tonight"? Yeah.
  12. We need a huge stroke of luck, the type it's felt like we've had none of all season. Even thinking back to the last game, how close was Barnes to smashing that free kick in off the post, millimetres to the left and it goes in. We're due a heap of it Early goal, take our chances. It's not over til it's over

  14. Classic tadpole to avoid the points he can't argue against and try to poke and prod. You used to be better at this, it's like watching Tripps these days
  15. We paid £10m to plug a gaping hole in our side and probably recouped that and then some solely through improved league positions. I haven't even read whatever point I'm guessing you've been making about your club's transfers, I'm talking solely about one transfer made by my club and the impact I saw it make with my own eyes as I watched every game that season, both before and after he joined. Presumably you think it's double standards because I'm comparing it differently to Man Utd's transfers, but hun, I haven't even gone back a page, I could not care less about how creepy uncle Jim chooses to spend his money
  16. Nah you're way off base there Froglet. Prior to signing Wood we were struggling along trying to play ASM upfront from what I remember, a square peg in a round hole if ever there was one. We just needed an actual striker upfront, didn't have to be prolific or anything, but someone who naturally knew what positions to take up. I'm a paid up member of the "Chris Wood got way too much hate" club but even putting that aside, we looked so much more coherent as a side once we had an actual forward playing up top. Never the long-term answer, and the side quickly progressed beyond him, but for what we needed during that first half a season he was great. Came in, did a job, improved the side in the very short term and we got a lot of the money back. Worth every penny tbh.
  17. Don't love this. As long as he doesn't follow the rat's lead and refuse to play until he gets a move, I can live with it. Understand that the club had limited options, but felt at the time that we'd set a precedent that we'd bow to that sort of pressure. I still wish we'd forced him to stay and rot as a message about the sort of behaviour we'll accept and the sort we won't.
  18. Got the tactics right for me. First half great with a real 1-2 suckerpunch knocking the wind out of our sails. 2nd half pretty abject. Frustrating as I feel like the PSG game and the first half of this one show big signs of improvement in our away performances, but the result here was grim given the context of how shit Liverpool have been recently. Real "just get through it and go again in the summer" feel to this season, which is wild considering where we are in all 4 competitions still.
  19. Nah, it's soul destroying because even when we play well (like we did for the first 40 minutes tonight) it accounts for nothing because the number one rule is that Newcastle don't win at that cunt ground. If we were shit every time I don't think I'd care as much
