  1. Looking at the training photos of Jonas defending HBA, got me thinking maybe; Krul Simpson Williamson Perch Jonas Tiote Guthrie Cabaye HBA Cisse Ba

    Hatem Ben Arfa

I remember Adam Johnson skinning Enrique a number of times last season at Eastlands. Ben Arfa has every chance of demolising Jose.
  3. I met him a few days after he signed for Real. I was backpacking in Madrid, and drinking in a small shit irish pub, when Sami Khedira walked in only to be followed by Ozil. An Irish backpacker pointed them out as "spanish pooftas." Approached them both for photographs, eventually got one form Ozil, although he was reluctant to and a right miserable twat.

Tiote Cabaye Jonas HBA Ba Cisse That front 6 can mix it with the best.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

I think a solution is Ba and HBA swapping sides through the game, to unsettle the other team. Then when on the right he can cut in and shoot... while on the left he can beat his man and whip in a delicious cross or cut back.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Hes most effective on the counter attack or if we can play a switch ball from the left flank.. which leaves him isolated one on one cutting onto his favourite left boot.
  7. Completely different player to the shambles against Stoke at St. James in the 2010/2011 season. Nothing gets past him.
  8. Young bench there. Average age is 22.. thats including a 30 year old ameobi
  9. Krul Simpson Williamson Coloccini Jonas Perch Guthrie Cabaye HBA Ba Cisse ?

  12. The away shirt and goalkeeping shirt that were also leaked, are of the same design as the latest Puma tops. Italy and Brisbane Roars Champions league shirts.

    Alan Pardew

That's very relevant to the topic of passing, cheers. Quite pertinent to the topic of winning football matches, which Alan Pardew (the perosn being discussed in this thread) is paid to do. Just broadening the debate is all I don't think anyone's debating that we won the game. Could've fooled me. We beat a confident Norwich side. Who don't forget, beat us 4-2 last time out. The point discussed is how we seem to win games by solitary goals usually dependent on some outstanding play by one of of Cisse, Ba or HBA instead of teamwork with a coherent formation and tactics (unless you consider the hoofing in the second half as tactics). The problem with the model that we are adopting is that we don't dominate games and can at anytime lose/draw games that in theory we should/can win. It also gives us next to zero chance (Man Utd game aside) of taking points of the top 4-6 teams even at home, which is what we should be targeting if we are serious on getting into Europe. Maybe some will have to wait till we get a tonking from Liverpool for the penny to drop. Dependant on outstanding play? Cant really say that in this example when Cisse missed more sitters than class goals he scored. We dont dominate games no, it hasnt made us less likely to lose/draw games than we should win in theory. Look back at the season, bar unusual circumstances we pretty much win every game you'd expect under Pardew. I made a thread on this yesterday. We definately do less well against the top 7 but its to be expected. Which games so far against them would you have expected more from us? Swansea at home, Wolves at home, Sunderland at home, West Brom at home. Definately more points on offer in those games.

    Papiss Cissé

yeh he does against aston villa
  16. Williamson makes a 5 yard pass look like the most painful, excruciating difficult thing in the game of football.
  17. I think it could work. With Cabaye playing narrow, itll give license for Gutierrez to overlap from a deeper position. Can see a more narrow 4-3-3 with the fullbacks attacking alot more than we are used to.
  18. Yeh im expecting us to revert to that system, only because Pardew seems to have some problem with Ben Arfa playing on the wing in a 4-4-2. Would like to see some fluidity when attacking between Ba, HBA and Gutierrez. Swap positions and confuse the opposition.
  19. If Simpson and Raylor areinjured id love to see fergie start at left back and santon at right back.
  20. Krul Simpson Williamson Coloccini Santon Tiote Cabaye Jonas HBA Ba Cisse
  21. Yeh we have high hopes for Chris Herd, expecting him to step up in time for the World Cup. What happened to Shane Lowry? Not capable of making the step up to Premier League? I know hes meant to be performing quite well for Millwall. Curious, because we have no international quality left backs at all.
  22. I hope he's decent. I've never heard of him, tbh. He will be a good signing for you I think. He really struggled to perform for Australia between the age of 23 and 26. I remember watching him in a friendly against Holland and every pass he made .. he gave it away. However, the world cup in south africa was the making of him. He scored 2 goals in 3 games, was by far our best performer and has never looked back since. Definately a key player for the socceroos. Plays best in the hole behind the striker, but is also capable playing up front or on either win. His strengths are his energy, fitness, pace and ability to get in behind the defence. I would say he lacks a bit technically, and has poor composure.
  23. Be interesting to see how Holman would go in the Premier League, Id say hes a Tim Cahill type player with alot more work ethic. Shuts down alot in the front third. Alex Mcleish type player.
