I think we find ourselves in a very unusual situation, probably since Shearer, whereby we have one of the best strikers on the planet in our squad. It’s not something we’re used too, it’s new to us so we’re probably not used to dealing with it. It’s becoming pretty clear though, and rightly so, he needs a new contract asap to reflect his status otherwise it’s going to be difficult to justify him wanting to hang around.

You need experience in the side too. It’s great having a load of 22,23,24 year olds but it’s not a bad thing having some older heads too. And of course the fact that he was an absolute beast last year. Would be a great signing for the right price.

Worth keeping in mind we are now competing with the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea for players and not Brentford, West Ham etc When the pool of players you want is so small, its never going to be easy.
