  1. Beat Man City away, drew with Liverpool away and also drew with Arsenal away in the FA Cup (beating them on pens). They drew at home with Chelsea in the reverse of tonight's fixture. All a while ago though.
  2. No. And even with the Fender presale I think my O2 presale through my phone contract got me in earlier.
  3. Don't think the issue is them calling themselves United, or people from the area. Makes sense for people in Manchester, differentiating between two Manchester teams. I'd expect people in Sheffield referring to United to mean SheffU. It's about the rest of the country. Same with City. People locally did refer to us as United sometimes. See nufc.com for example of older gen still doing it. It's getting killed off by ManU's dominance. Tbh doesn't actually bother me that much, slightly irks. I'd prefer us be known as Newcastle than United anyway. Seems like a losing battle, but I'd never naturally call them United. They're ManU.
  4. This is kind of thing people would take the piss out of the mackems for. He’s won Liverpool’s second title in 30 odd years in his very first season.
  5. Seems strange since that always was likely on the cards
  6. He said 'could'. Given that scenario also requires Chelsea losing to Forest, odds are probably our GD would not be worse than theirs. Suffice to say the collection of circumstances required for us to finish 7th are possible but pretty remote!
  7. I imagine a lot of ManU fans would disagree? Certainly for us, or Tottenham. But having seen ManU fans when they beat us in the League Cup final, it hardly seemed a season-defining event. Given the much worse league position, and the decline of the Europa's prestige, my impression is most would still consider the season a big failure. From the outside, to me, this looks like a cup that's of low value to ManU and a historically bad league season that really dents the prestige and draw of the club.
  8. They both have to win two games, in neither case they’re difficult games on form. But if Villa do it they still might not qualify. Villa have also lost key players. Makes sense to me.
  9. Would rather Man City lose points next season, helping us to win the league.
  10. Oh aye of course. Getting their away game with Leicester confused in my head. But aye, still, very unlikely.
  11. If it was at Southampton maaaybe after last week, but reckon it's still highly unlikely Arsenal don't beat Southampton at home.
  12. I'm really pleased it's staying, great bit of history and my first away ground. But I see what you mean about how it affects moving on.
  13. I thought the one where he got shoved in the second half could well have been a pen, but that's the kind of thing where his (deserved) reputation could go against him.
  14. Saw a clip about how you never get streakers anymore (true!). Consequently was reminiscing to some non toon mates about when I went to the smoggies away and two festive female streakers ran on and were chasing Gazza. Looked it up. There's a 2022 article interviewing one of them, and she says it was one of the best experiences of her life. Thought aww, that's sweet. Good wholesome fun. Then saw the other one died a few years later in her early 20s! 🥺 Wasn't expecting that mood turn. https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/news/teesside-news/gazza-boro-streaker-says-topless-23874727.amp
  15. Rewatching the semi highlights again. Feel like I'd almost forgotten about it as so focused on the final, but they were both special games too, the second one of the best nights at SJP for me in a long time. Looking back knowing what it led to adds to the magnitude. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PmCxudhbPk&t=19s
  16. Going down to this. I've been to three away/neutral games this season, all London and we've won all three. (Tottenham, West Ham, cup final). Also I've been to the Emirates twice and we've not lost (1-1 2006/07, 0-0 2022/23). We're doing it.
  17. Def was poor but was disappointed by the fan reaction to him, not helpful at all.
  18. I see it was technically correct but im not having that disallowed Palace goal for offside - he’s standing in his own half!
  19. It wasn't a criticism, I enjoyed it. I'd go and get a blood pressure check if I were you.
  20. Everton are too close to that blackhole of points for my liking
  21. "so congratulations to them" for making it difficult for us, when we've just beaten them 2-0 is so patronising
