Hayden was doing 5Live punditry for the final and spoke very highly of Howe, even saying he keeps in touch with him still and checks in. Clearly no bitterness about being frozen out the last few years.

I know it's silly, and obviously a League Cup / FA Cup double would've been lovely, but I'm a bit happy we lost this now. It meant it was all about yesterday. No 'oh well, we've still got the FA cup' - and no cup disappointment later in the season after that, that can wait for future seasons.

It was great that a Pardew-era signing got to lift the cup. Felt like the king himself was there with us.

Tbf to Liverpool I think they were sometimes making a noise and we just couldn't hear it at our end, cos we could hear ourselves drowning them out. In one of the highlights clips they were quite loudly singing Steve Gerard's song and I didn't hear that at all in the ground.

Love that for the second. Murphy and Burn hug too.

So happy we got that second, not just for the cushion, but seeing the ball hit the net in front of us, the players celebrating with us - class.

It thought it was great, intense, including before we went ahead. It was hard to sing in unison, often multiple songs were being sung at different times times, or the same song out of time, but it just felt like constant noise, cheering on, urging, cheering tackles. I loved it. Oh and seemed the whole end was stood up.

I was annoyed at this guy getting suspended but he played a crucial role in getting us to the final and really glad he was right in the celebrations

We’ve heard that horrible sound in Wembley over the years where the other half of the stadium erupts. It was strange to be in the end making the noise. I wish I could hear what it sounded like from the other side
