That’s where I was too
-
I've been in our away end where it was booed by quite a lot. Leicester away 3-0 one.
-
It was loud in the corner too, I felt pretty conspicuous clapping.
-
I wouldn’t be raging or anything with 6th but I wouldn’t take it. I’d like to see us progress, and I think the next stage is qualifying for CL while being in the CL. And I don’t think there’s anyone competing with us that I’d be particularly happy losing out too. Eg current faves (?) spurs also have CL to deal with and were way behind us last season.

Agree it's not quite the same as the train analogy. But yous can move together. We were forced to move twice when they reclassified seats and we sorted out to move to same area as seat-neighbours. Most people would not be forced to move, they could stay if they're happy to be in standing. Many of us would love the opportunity of first dibs on a standing seat.

Cheers for the tip, got one in JD on Northum St today.

As I said thought it was good, but as someone else said - people leaving early what are they on? Got to think many of them do it habitually, meaning they’ve missed many of the best moments. Love to think of them realising what they missed today, but would rather they just passed their ticket on

I think taking the knee in the PL has become a mostly meaningless tokenistic gesture. But I’ve no doubt those booing it are racists. So I clap it. Maybe the booing shows it’s not so meaningless actually… I dunno.

Us and rivals for 4/5th Uncle Jeff coefficients - After us gaining 3 v Fulham Us -3 Villa -5 (same points as us last season) Tottenham +7 (28 points behind us last season) ManU +2 (24 points behind us last season) Chelsea -4 (3 points ahead of us last season) edit: updated after Sunday games

Trying to account for the fact I was in the strawberry corner, where it’s going to be better regardless, but even still, my impression was it was good today for a Fulham home game. Crowd really urging us on for a winner.
-
So the way to force safe standing is to stand persistently in seated areas - enough people that they give up trying to force people to sit. Difficult without some proper organisation.

Know if anywhere has this one in S? Sold out in S online and stadium club shop when I looked (the black adidas with the NUFC letters 80s badge) https://shop.newcastleunited.com/products/newcastle-united-adidas-25-26-terrace-icons-black-tee

Was so glad they ran over to him, great moment for him.
-
Was thinking that - it’ll be the first time he’s ever played us where we’re not the underdog.
-
The Benfica fans didn’t stop singing once in the first half and was probably the loudest ive ever heard away fans for a sustained period, til we scored. Ive been in some good away ends with us but never one that’s sung as constantly as that - nor can I think of any visitors here like that (I did miss CL in 23/24). Was a bit less loud after but still pretty constant. Our fans sounded mostly deadly silent to me til last twenty mins, pretty similar to how it is in a Saturday game against the likes of Fulham. Shows how much where you are in the stadium affects perception.

This isn’t an excuse for the degree of how poor it was, but the new format has diluted the importance of these games. I did not go into this feeling like it was as massive a game as in the days of groups.
-
Maybe too early to say how great a striker he is but he’s a fuckin class footballer
-
Mourinho just on saying “it was a quiet St James’s”, “the atmosphere was nice, not difficult”.
-
Sounded really poor from where I was in the leazes . Benfica fans sounded great
