I didn't get a ticket til this morning and I'm going straight from work - so I won't have a toon top on. I think this may be my first match ever without wearing a toon top - I don't like it. Got no black and white at all. I'm going to keep one of my spare toon tops in a draw at the office from now.

Cheers! It seems that for Boca and River you have to be a member these days, and unlike us, you can't just get a membership for the match. Looks like for them the best way is to pay for a pricey package thing - found a reliable one. I think I might be tempted though. Up for another team possibly as well, but would love to see Boca. I'll actually be at River's stadium for a gig. I'll be in Santiago for a bit and hoping to get to a few games there too - I'm more familliar there. Don't think I'll get a chance to get to Uruguay but I did take the ferry there last time! (13 years ago!) Did a stadium tour in Montevideo - the old WC one. No matches unfortunately.

Anyone been to a match in Buenos Aires? I'm going to have two available weekends there. I gather Boca and River games are not easy. One weekend is actually Boca v River which would obviously be great, but imagine difficult, and also conscious of being careful not to get battered. I'm open to other team, though I would quite fancy Boca (more than River). Boca are playing Tigre at home another weekend I'm there.

So we are -6 in the Uncle Jeff (same fixtures as last season) Let's say it's the same top 4, and we're looking at our likely rivals for 5th: Villa are -5 (having finished on same points as us last season) Tottenham are +4 (having finished 28 points behind us last season) Man U are -1 (updated after ManU match) (having finished 24 points behind us last season) Can't discount likes of Bournemouth, but those clubs don't seem to last the distance. We need to improve and we're not looking good to push on to a higher level, but we' can def still realistically put together a top 5 campaign.

Think top 4 is beyond us but still not top 5. Today didn't change a lot. Big three games coming up. 3 wins from next 3 and we're on exact same track as last season. 5+ points and I'll still have some hope (though should be looking at more than 5)

My impression was the hysteria about crime going up in London, despite the stats, were mostly driven by the far right's hatred for immigrants and Sadiq Khan. (I am not at all saying that's what is motivating people's claims here - just my impression from how the far right here and the US love to talk about how dangerous London is now cos of immigrants and a muslim mayor). I can see how the rise of e-bikes might make stealing phones more common.

Unfortunately it would also make it more difficult for some of us who help each other out with tickets too and pass the e-mail on. (I say each other, I've mostly been the beneficiary). Not saying that's enough of a reason not to do it necessarily, def in favour of making things more difficult for touts.

I accept there's going to be variation in success and some will be more unlucky, but noone should be paying their membership fee and getting 0 from 23 applications - they surely should've fixed it for you when you reached a certain number of fails even if there's not a sophisticated system in place.
