Hall has mostly been excellent all season, he looks a top player for future, so much about him
-
Longstaff, Livramento and Hall were especially excellent today
-
We can't high press that effectively with current back 4 either, Schar isn't looking great, Dan burn has the pace of a snail so if they push up to squeeze midfield they can't get back, look at how Jackson just turned them. I think having 2 midfielders alternating sitting deeper and a front 4 (1 up front, 3 behind) and getting them to press would be more effective. Pressing slightly deeper but less gaps for them to break through. Normally with Howe we have a bad run then all of a sudden become unbeatable for a run of games so hoping that happens but hard to see it right now. That right wing needs sorted as well to hurt teams as we look really shit going forward there. Another thing would be sitting deeper and using Barnes, Isak, Joelinton runs to counter diagnolly as well know they have that in them but needs a Schar or Bruno pass to unlock

The only other team to play 433 this weekend was spurs. Other teams mostly seem to play a 4231 now with a few 442 (Arsenal/Brighton) and 352 for palace, Man city play 4141 but have the players to do that. Generally think we need to go 442 or 4231 to try and gain more control and link up midfield to attack, as a stop gap put Joelinton, Gordon or Tonali in that attacking mid role, get 2 players to sit deeper and at least try something different. Would give Hall/Livramento more room to attack as well.

We need a mixed approach, have to scout further and bring in potential while still investing in ready players in some key areas. I just think there's better value for what we have to spend outside of premier league.
-
The whole setup just looks wrong. Need to always keep one midfielder deeper and probably just have 2 in there with Tonali and Bruno pivot. Need shorter passing ranges as well as gaps are too big between midfield and attack. We shouldn't be this shit with those players but maybe do need to sell a big player and fund a few improvements across the team. Even just bringing in a right winger won't massively improve us as we aren't functioning well in other areas, there's something up with our whole system.
-
We could if we recruit in better ways. Our technical ability is awful. Fuck spending 70 million on a centre half, sort out midfield and wings, need a creative type in that midfield and probably move to 2 in middle holiding and 1 in front, we get cut open too much to play that 433
-
We never seem to have the space other teams do and convinced it's because we are slow as shit with the ball and our movement is shit
-
I think he will go after Arsenal game, looks clueless how to change it and can't see us beating Chelsea or Arsenal at home. We are barely putting up a fight and not hurting teams at all. Just incredible levels of shit
-
Think he may need to go, doesn't seem to know how to sort this
-
None of them seem to have a clue in midfield or up front, disjointed, mistakes all the time, no quality just shocking to watch
-
What the fuck man, just no fucking sense in this team, constant fuck ups
-
Just far too easy for them to walk through us, one man goes to ball and they are straight through. Low block and break surely better for us
-
So slow to every fucking ball and no idea when we have it, fucking rank on every level right now
-
Fucking pathetic again
-
We are fucking pathetic
-
We don't have better players than those 2 though and would often come up with something. For some reason just too many players not in form yet
-
I think we should try Tonali and Bruno as a 2 with someone just ahead but not sure who, maybe Joe
-
Frustrating but how often have we sucker punched other teams and then held on. Played at our own game. Need something to click and maybe fresh blood in Jan. Positives Hall looking a solid player as is Livramento, thought Joelinton did his job well, Burn up for it, Tonali has top awareness of what's around him and Collective Pressing and Intensity looks back at leats
-
Nothing wrong tactically at all, it was the front 3 not putting it away, created enough chances and didn't give Brighton much across middle of pitch or at back. Need someone to have a bit of scoring form, Isak or Gordon
-
Really terrible finishing, done enough elsewhere to win this but absolutely garbage up front. If that clicked we would have hammered these
-
Burn is a great squad player to have around. He has his limitations but can do a solid job coming in if get first choice sorted. Similarly Krafth not let anyone down, puts the effort in and decent squad player. Cost 5 million and covered Right Back and Centre Half and done ok in those roles. Bang average but mostly know what you are getting when he plays
-
When Schar and Burn had ball he was always looking to step into space to be available and would shift a few yards away from Everton players to get that bit space
-
We have been shit against them away for years, last season's game was dreadful. Think they don't have much about them but defensively reasonably capable. Actually surprised they didn't score in last minute as was expecting it
-
True he did as did Trippier, Bruno against Fulham etc. Think a lot of good signs from him last few games and more to him than Longstaff has, more technically capable for starters
