  1. Cole definitely improved as a footballer while at Manchester United. He was very raw and played on instinct for us. Always had confidence in him scoring unless he had time to think about it.
  2. Some managers are designed for certain clubs imo. That's why I wasn't sure Martinez would make the step up. It's a similar job though in terms of financial constraints. Moyes theoretically has won the lottery funding wise, and as we've seen many times over the years, managers who've done the business being prudent don't always carry that to a bigger budget club.
  3. Cole needed a level of service that Sir Les didn't though. Les had the better ability to create for himself absolutely no doubt.
  4. Defoe will score bucketloads in MLS. Can't believe he's going there tbh.
  5. Les was the better all round footballer. Andy the better goalscorer.
  6. Why did Taggart sign Zaha? Obviously he didn't consult Moyes.
  7. Bimpy has hit the nail right on the head. It is about performance and not just result. At the end of the day it's supposed to be entertainment. Pardew doesn't allow his team to entertain for long enough, because of the fear of losing what the more attacking style has reaped, definitely against the weaker sides. That's basically it for me
  8. No way Pardew's side puts 5 past Sunderland btw.
  9. I already quoted your bollocks over the summer. Calling me mental for suggesting Newcastle were getting away from long balls and trying to get more possession on the floor. Maybe you were just slightly blinkered during pre-season matches due to your hatred for Pardew and suggesting he would only do long ball. If it's any consellation, you weren't the only one who couldn't see our progression. We're still negative irrespective of the long ball game not being as prevalent. And in any case, long balls aren't necessarily aimless hoofs. A well executed 40 yard pass is just as pleasing on the eye as tiki taki imo.
  10. The difference between say Chelsea or Arsenal dropping out of the top 4 would be far more catastrophic for them than for you. Manchester United is historically the club players would give their eye teeth to play for, the finest centre forward the Premiership has ever seen, excepted. You'll still attract the quality of player required, it's whether the Glazers will pay for them.
  11. Sells papers to say positive things about Manchester United. As there are more glory hunters than support any other team.
  12. Someone hijacked your account? I agree with you 100% but it's the first sentence. Totally flies in the face of what you've said before
  13. Someone hijacked your account?
  14. It is exactly the same. I've known people that I went to school with and were Liverpool through and through at school in the 80s, to seeing same person 15 or so years later wearing a Man United top.
  15. Au contraire! It's fucking tremendous!!
  16. They aren't getting what they signed up for.
  17. Definitely hyperbole saying I want BILLY DAVIES. I'd just prefer him to the boremonger we have now.
  18. He said it was par. Why is he so thrilled with a season which is par then? Clearly a WUM Clearly.
  19. No it's not, and what have we won? 10 league games out of 20 this season? At the end of the day it's a results game. We're not the Newcastle of old but nor do we play an awful brand of football. I've seen much worse at NUFC. Well that's ok then. Carry on regardless because I saw Souness' sides and Allardyce's sides and Bill McGarry's sides and they played worse than Lord Pardew's. Utter turd. Lord Pardew man I've given the bloke pelters when he's deserved it, the arse end of last season for example, however I cannot reconcile the way we have performed for the majority of this season with the hatred some have for the bloke. We're six points of the Champions League places for fuck's sake. I know he's not a likeable person, I know he talks shite but claiming you'd rather have Billy fucking Davies than him is just laughable. The fact of the matter is that this season he has got us playing a brand of football that while not Keeganesque is effective. We retain and recycle possession well, we work hard, we create a decent number of chances and if we do take a chance we try to make sure we don't leak one at the other end and rely on our pace to play on the break. I'd like to see us knock in three or four every week but if that's not possible for whatever reason picking up the three points is a not a bad substitute for seeing a game with just the one or two goals. The Billy Davies point comes from watching his side destroy a side we couldn't score past. Not scoring one and sitting on it, and more often than not losing out because of it. His team actually carried on trying to score. I didn't say I wanted him to manage Newcastle rather I'd prefer him to the boremonger in charge now. you did see the west ham line up today right? Would Pardew's side kept going at them, irrespective of the quality of opposition? That's the real question.

It really isn't praising Davies more an indictment of Pardew.
  21. even though he's currently doing better than a majority of them? He's achieving the very least the calibre of squad should aspire to.

  23. I think I'd take any Premiership manager apart from Asdaprice and Pulis ahead of Pardew. And a few of the Championship ones too.
