Pre Sky he'd have got away with it. That wasn't the point though. The point was how the rules have changed to take out most contact. There used to be players that would complain to the ref. when getting booked that it was their first foul. You'd often see them gesticulating first one. That's because you would get away with more. If somebody played the ball and not the player it was a good tackle. You could slide tackle from behind and take the ball, not even a free kick. And it's because of this less physical game we have today that the divers have become more common. You'd get the odd one but they were very few and far between. But there was little point in it because more was allowed. And if it did take place, then, to risk being jingoistic, it would be a foreign player doing it, and we'd be seeing it at International level, never in a domestic game.

And Rooney. This is a fucking joke. We're ridiculously boring to watch at the minute and our whole team are shite. Class.

Hatem needs a run of games. One comes along where it looks on the surface to be one he can influence given their weakness at full back on either side. And Pardew prefers Shola. He's a fraud. Pardew that is. Utter turd brain.

I agree. Come on Tottenham! !!

You will see players rested in the meaningless Cup game we have up next.

Hope Yanga-Mbiwa can fill the void. Colo has been an underestimated part of our recent run. he has and I was a regular in wanting him dropped not so loing ago but he's been very good recently. He'll play right back whilst Debuchy is out I reckon. Which gives Taylor a chance to put his case forward. Ahem.

Wouldnt have even been a foul 25 years ago. Stupid in this day and age though.

Ultra turbishitcunt .

Deserves the sack for everything he's done today. Pardew fuck off.

Remember what happened to Leeds/Portsmouth etc. etc.

What it does is encourage other clubs to make bids thus unsettling the player. No need at all.

I suppose we could enter Eurovision.

I agree I hope he tries to leave in January. His lack of game time is hurting England.

Why am I not surprised by that? My old man still speaks very highly of him as a player. Must have been a terrific talent. Marvellous clippings, btw - thanks for sharing. I was a teenager round about the same time (1972) and had a bad problem with my hip after a climbing holiday in Scotland. Nowt to do with the club, but the treatment I got was a farce. My GP gave me pain killers and an appointment to see a specialist some five or six months later. Before that ever happened, I slipped on some ice, fell on the hip, and was in screaming agony. At that point I was hospitalised and the RVI gave me the wrong treatment. A month later, a new doctor realised what was going on. I had a second operation and was in hospital for six months, walked on crutches for another six months after that. Today, as a result, I'm officially disabled, can barely walk some days, and need a hip replacement. Medical treatment in Newcastle in those days left a lot to be desired. Just ask Alf Roberts.

At the moment Suarez strolls into a World XI. Van Persie would never get into one, not even to warm the bench, at any time in his career. Next week Ian Huntley vs Fred West.
-
I don't think he's over rated either, just not in Suarez' class.
-
A fit RVP is essential for your top 4 hopes. However a fit RVP isn't better than Suarez. Suarez is far and away the best player in the Premiership.

As usual Sewelly is bang on the money.

Unfortunately that was all he could do. Not too far from the truth. Lovely bloke, Big Mike (Hooper). Keen bird watcher or twitcher he was. Twitcher was quite apt as my arsehole could be called the same every time the ball went near him.
