I'd agree with that. Before the influx of foreign superstars, he was at the top of the list of players I would have loved to have seen in a Spurs shirt. Surprised you didnt sign him, once we had declared our intentions tbh. With comments like that, it's a fair bet that you never saw him live. If you had, you might have made a more meaningful contribution. Newcastle could do with someone of Green's ability now. Saw him play for the Tangerines tbh.Green and Hutchison in the same side iirc.Incidentally,i saw Martin Jol play live,in the flesh also.coincidentally,he didnt contribute much, either for WBA or Coventry.Aaaah now i see it!

  5. Think this could be a favour to Keegans old club,Liverpool to force Villa to sell Barry quicker.wonder what we'll get in return if my suspicions are confirmed?Insua on the cheap maybe.......
  6. nah just an american nuke and half of israel Bit more spice added whwn we play Spuds!!!!And will the twin towers be safe if we get to Wembley???I know they aint there any more but it sounded funny to me.
  7. Gomes? Dodgy keeper? I'd say Gomes is definetly not a dodgy keeper. Certainly a VAST improvement over Robinson. Good shot stopper but flaps more than an eplileptic Duck. Absolute nonsense. I´ve seen him for years in Holland now, playing for a rival team no less, and he is curently one of the best goalkeepers in Europe beyond a doubt. He won titles for PSV almost singlehandedly. I would say replacing Robinson with Gomes with all other things being equal would mean about 10 points more in the Premiership for them.. Oh come on, he showed glimpses against Tottenham of how dodgy he can be when he almost killed Salcido taking a routine catch. One or two matches against Tottenham. Is that what you´ve seen of him and are basing your opinion of dodgy keeper on? You´re in for a shock.. So is he when gets to play behind Michael Dawson..........
  8. You know that the only bits of him in the Argy video are the cross, him giving away a free kick, and him kissing the goalscorer? All the good bits were other players and he wasn't involved at all in those particular sequences. That cross was quality though-Owen will thrive on service like that,as it seems Guiza did last season. Said that same thing when I saw him whip the cross in. It'll be nice to have a pacy winger looking to make the pass. Instead of a s*** winger,Duff, looking to take the piss.(Out of us) i like his two-footedness (from the small clips i saw) but i'm scared by the idea of a winger just whipping balls in. it's why gillespie got found out easier than ginola I think any winger, worth his salt, would expect a decent striker to be near post in that situation Mads.Time and again we've seen Owen and Shearer, over the years, profit from darting near post runs. owen does it all the time but too often we dont have someone following in (the perfact example was manutd with beckham wide, not even looking up but knowing he'd have sheringham/cole splitting front post/in behind). i just don't like the idea of just trying to hit the byline and hit someones head all the time. it seems to many on here think the ferdiand-ginola-gillespie axis would work aswell today. Yep,i agree with that. Can see Owen getting better service now thouigh.
  9. Deidre's back with Ken now Ash.Samir got murdered.
  10. Is it still called five live?Just radio 5 aint it?

  12. Just one question. How do you coach a scout? No Gary Glitter quotes please. Its a serious question.
  13. Now we've got Gutierrez, why not go back to Mallorca for Guiza.Looked very sharp at Euros, and would help each other settle in,plus know each others game inside out.

  16. He looks a hell of a player, check the Argentinian ones on his website mentioned earlier in the thread.
  17. We're not soft soaping you, this guy is the new Diego Swarfega.Am i right guys?If young Diego is half as good as his dad, then he'll put old Christiano well in the shade. He'll probably cop off with his bird too.
  18. 20 million pound deal from Spurs in the offing, according to The London Currant, player plus cash deal, made up of Michael Dawson and 22 million pounds.
  19. aren't they one and the same ? Diego Swarfega jr. is a real prospect. it's as easy for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it would be for us to get diego swarfega jnr Portsmouth apparently interested. And Barcelona.

  21. Apparently Spurs have first option according to some archaic Israeli source.
  22. good player. omnipitent . 3 players in one apparantly. We were interested first though.
  23. He should have already been sacked, once he'd been imprisoned. The fact he's admitted his guilt for the Dabo incident means nitsch,as it occurred before his move.He won't be sacked though because if we do someone else will pick him up for free, and its business at the end of the day,he is a commodity, just as Lee Hughes was when released.
  24. I did start this thread after 10 pints of Stella, however,i feel we could and should have pursued players before the Euros, such as Arshavin and i believe having not had the forward thinking back then will cost us.For all of those saying this thread is an embarrassment,ok the press DO and ALWAYS HAVE sensationalised any Newcastle United press, but we need to improve our squad to climb the league. There are so many "non entity" teams of 2 or 3 years ago who have overtaken us in terms of squad quality ie,Man City,Portsmouth and to a certain extent Everton,Spurs and Aston Villa.I dont want us to sell our best players.ie Martins, but their heads will be turned by European playing clubs being interested.
  25. He does occasionally.Metzelder and Cannavaro first choice centre backs.
