Everyone can see both sides of the argument. I know that the stadium renaming will bring in money that the club could do with (assuming we get paid anything) but I just don't accept that's a good enough reason for the change. Pardew's irrelevant to the renaming argument TBH, the best he can do is deal with the questions in the most general and vague way he can. It's really nothing to do with him.

Great thread that. I've always been grateful that we've grown SJP from the original stadium, and kept it on the same site. It really gives it a sense of history that many modern stadiums lack. Hopefully the renaming won't mess with that.

Ah right, I don't know the details of that scheme, can't really remember it. Still, I think, barring unprecedented European success, SJP as it is is big enough for us.

Absolutely spot on. Yep, it's totally stupid that games against the top 4 are the 'real test', it's games against the rest of the league that decide your final position, nobody beats the top 4 anyway.
